Bought this to cover and keep the rain off of a covered boat while in outdoor storage during for a few months. Granted, this is in the Florida sun but after only 4 months of use this tarp is disintegrating. The white (coating?) turns into an almost powder. I discovered this when I took it off the boat then carried it home in the back of my 4 Runner. Tiny white pieces covered the black rear deck and took hours to clean up I've owned many tarps over the years, including smaller white ones that spend more time than this outdoors and never have I had one disintegrate like this did. Perhaps if you use this tarp for indoor, out of the sun coverage it may last longer but I would not recommend for outdoor use. A waste of money as far as I am concerned. ... show more

    • Heavy duty tarp! Some concern about longevity.

I have only had this for a couple of weeks now and it's held up just fine so far. It is being used to cover a 12 foot trailer and sees all day of sun. It holds water in depressions, so the waterproof aspect is definitely there! I'm a little bit worried about the seam in the middle that holds the two pieces of tarp together (in order to make the larger 12 x 24 tarps, they seem to have simply adhered together two 6ft wide segments. Additionally, it's being held down with bungee straps and a little bit of 'pull' on one of the eye lets caused separation from the tarp. Let's start off this review with the size. I bought a 20 x 40 tarp. That's a pretty good size tarp. So you would think the eye hooks or these AWESOME D rings would be able to support the tart? Spoiler alert it can't. With in the 1st 2 hours the D hooks broke. I kinda figured they would, so I then hung the tarp by the eye hooks they pulled out with on 2 days! I went to Harbor Freight and bought the eye hook kit and doubled up. Still did not work. To cut this review short if you bought a 10x10 or even a 10x20 this might be a good tarp. The material is good quality but to pay bouble the price for something that does not work is just bad business. I will return the tart for something that won't tear in 2 hours!! ... show more

I vacillated on whether to spend this much money on a tarp, and if the additional thickness was worth it. Bottom line, I think it is. The tarp fabric is superior. Heavy and tough. No question it will survive the elements in Virginia. Two nibbles the manufacturer should fix: - The tie-down rings were partly rusted out of the box. They should be stainless not chrome. An easy fix if necessary a year or so from now. - One of the grommets came apart. Also, an easy fix if necessary. Anyone who uses tarps should probably have a grommet kit anyway. They are cheap. Not weatherproof nor waterproof straight out of its packaging. I paid a pretty penny for this and it seems like I would have rather throw my money away. As you can see from the images I attached, there are soo many holes throughout all the creases. Do not waste your money on this product, not recommended! Edit: got a replacement sent to me, and I am surprised on how unprofessional they’ve been. I didn’t even have to touch the tarp this time. The replacement looks like it’s packaging has already been ripped open, and there is a tear on it besides the fact that is dirty. 2 images attached showing what I’m talking about! ... show more

Off to a great start with this tarp. It is to cover my very large wood pile so I need at least three solid years of protection. I’ve bought cheaper tarps in the past — and most are cheaper than this one — but those couldn’t handle the sun and weather in Virginia and small holes soon formed. Water then drained in and lots of wood ended up rotted. If this tarp doesn’t last as long as I now expect it to I will come back and downgrade this rating. ... show more

    • A bit heavy but very strong.

Much more substantial than all the previous tarps I’ve used on my boat. I’m hoping that it’ll last longer than the typical one year time frame. One problem I noticed right away is that some of the grommets had been deformed by the folding process and I had to straighten them out to make them usable.
