I've been through THREE of the least expensive stirrer on this site. The first time the mixer head detached from the base and could not be refastened. Second and third time the mixer head died. But I LOVE this mixer! It's silent. It's balanced (the other one was so off balance that it was uncontrollable) and SMOOTH! Twice the price but worth every penny.

I make my own cosmetics (mostly nail polish but also lotions etc) purely as a hobby and for my own use. So it’s not like I’m mixing up huge batches here, but having an automated stirrer is definitely a huge help in getting everything mixed homogenously with minimal effort. When I’m making a larger (for me, that is) batch, I break this thing out and it makes everything so much easier. I pretty much use it on the lowest speed settings and that works fine in most cases.

Overhead stir is low cost, light weight, quite, capable of stirring small quantities (~50 ml) and timer counts up when set to 0. The chuck is versatile (like that of a drill) and easy to use. The head is missing an exit hole for long stir rods. Adjusting the timer is tedious as it takes way too much twisting to cover long ranges. The biggest flaw with the overhead stir is the TORQUE SENSOR IS NOT ACCURATE. Tested on 2 units by grabbing the stir shaft at 300 rpm until it was stirring at low rpm (not slipping in chuck and unit read 150 rpm or less) and sensor occasionally reached1 Ncm which is wildly inaccurate (should be >1 Ncm). Additional accessories are surprisingly high quality. Ring stand is sturdy. Bosshead clamps are good quality and don’t slip. Clamp is sturdy with custom plastic grips and doesn’t wiggle. Comes with 2 overhead stir rods. One is traditional propeller which can be screwed on to stir upwards or downwards. The other is a banana shaped stir blade. Overall a great overhead stir for mL quantities with high quality accessories. Was very disappointed in the inaccuracy of the torque sensor which is why I bought the unit in the first place. Would have given this a 5 star rating if the torque sensor wasn’t as egregiously inaccurate.

Great for mixing up. Anything you need. Use this for making veterinary lubricant. Works well. Just doesn't go great on anything. Excessively viscous. A good value for the money holds rotation at good consistency. Easy to use, plug and Play for anyone familiar with the concept.

We already have a smaller magnetic stir plate. However, we often find ourselves with a bottleneck having only one plate. This one is larger than our current model and better constructed. It was a good value. However, I feel that for the money there should have been more than one magnet bar and there should have been a couple sizes included. Magnet bars are not expensive, but now I have to place another order for them. Consider adding a range of magnet bars to the kit, and it would be 5 stars.

i use this for 3d resin mixing and some of my resin is thick and i had no problem with the mixer to mix thicker resin. note this is 3d resin not epoxy resin which you would not want to use this mixer it will create air bubbles

I ordered this stirrer for mixing cleaning solutions and it works really well. The plate is large enough to handle different container sizes and the speed control is smooth and precise. The unit stays stable even at higher speeds. The stirring action is consistent and thorough - it is supposed to handles 5L containers without any issues, but we've only tried it with 32oz. The non-slip surface seems to work well. I do wish it came with more than one stir bar, but that's a minor issue. The build quality feels solid and the controls are straightforward to use. Great for anyone needing reliable liquid chemical mixing without having to do it by hand.
