I am impressed with the overall design of this product. I had a 10 year old "Craftsman" blower that served me well but finally became a pain to start. It had a 200 mph blower speed rating. My yard is divided into chopped portions of manicured lawn and heavy pine tree forest. Pine needles are everywhere, and my yard routine consists of blowing needles off the lawn and driveway. I was searching for 200mph wind/blower speed machine, thinking this was the critical performance factor. The Husqvarna 125BVx was rated at 170 mph and I was initially reluctant to buy it. I wanted to match what I had and knew worked in my yard. Higher blower speeds equal higher prices, much higher based on my search around $400+. I didn't want a high end, high price, backpack type blower. I have a little 1/2 acre yard. The Husqvarna works perfectly, meets the tasks of my yard work with no problems. I'm impressed. It's a beautiful design, lightweight, compact and well balanced machine. It's easy to start and runs quite (70db max. at full throttle). Honestly, for the price (under $200) it's hard for me to imagine how a manufacture can produce it and make any money. I've only had it for a few short weeks, so I can't make any statement on its durability. I have however, high expectations. My Craftsman lasted me 10 years and as I recall cost about $200. It will be hard to beat, but so far I'm building confidence in my Husqvarna. I don't expect to use the mulch or vac feature, as I never have with pine needles. I'm happy with my purchase.

If I could give this blower 10 stars it would not be enough. I have had 2 other blower/vacs in the last 4 years and they seem to last a couple of years and then they don't run right anymore. I owned a Yardman from Menards that just stopped running after 2 years so I bought a Toro from Farm and Fleet thinking it would last longer....nope 2 years and then would not keep running. The Toro supposedly has the same CFM air capacity but this blower works twice as good. The Husqvarna is quieter, doesn't vibrate as much and starts on the 2nd pull. It comes with a sling to put over your shoulder so you don't have to carry it. At 199.00 its only a little bit more than the other blowers but it is well worth the price. I got mine on a ware house deal for 161.00 because someone couldn't read directions on how to attach the blower tube. Spoiler Alert: The smaller narrower end of the tube does not attach to the blower housing it is too small and the housing will not tighten down on it. I am not sure of longevity on this blower but I have had my Husky chainsaw for 12 years with no maintenance whatsoever. It starts on the 2nd pull every time even below zero weather. I cut about 5 to 6 cords of wood a year so it gets used a lot. Do not hesitate to buy this product or anything in the Husqvarna line.

Purchased in Oct '11, I use this item in VAC mode only to clean up grass trimmings left by my edger. Occasionally, I'll try ivy leaf trimmings, but I find that this machine tends to clog on anything heavier than grass clippings. And the VAC tube is very difficult to remove in order to clear clogs. Also, while the engine is powerful enough, it doesn't appear that the impeller blades are properly designed for vac work. Just too light duty. When I researched blower/vacs two years ago, I noticed that manufacturers are focused primarily on the blower function. Vacuuming seems to be just a secondary function and is not even available on many units. Unfortunate, in my opinion, as a more specialized machine dedicated to the VAC function is preferable to a machine that's more efficient in blowing yard waste and dust onto the street or neighboring properties. Over the past six months, I'm also experiencing a problem with the engine. While it starts easily on full choke, it won't continue to run with the choke off. It runs on the half-choke setting ONLY. Very frustrating, as throttle is difficult to modulate at half-choke. I suspect that the carb has ingested some dirt, although I've never let the engine run with a dirty air cleaner (or without the air cleaner). Maybe the Husky folks need to do a better job of protecting the carb. It's a very small and delicate component -- much more so than those fitted to automobile engines. 11/27/13 Edit: Thanks to reviewer Ryan (9/17/12 review), I was able to remedy my carb problem, which was not dirt but just a needed adjustment. The use of a butt connector to turn the special jet screws worked great. Just 1/2-turn on both screws and the machine runs better than new. No special tool needed. (Note that the manufacturer DOES indicate in the instructions that carb adjustment may be needed depending on geographic location where used.) 5/13/15 Edit: Upgrading my prior rating from 3 to 4 stars. There has been a learning curve on my part and now that I have a much better understanding of this machine and have successfully dealt with the fuel issues, I'm very satisfied with the performance. That doesn't mean that I'm satisfied with the vacuum mode ergonomics. Heck no; still very cumbersome, but I'm resigned to it after 4 years. I did finally buy the carb adjusting tool -- available on Amazon and not expensive. (Note that the shape of tool bit is splined -- not the D-shape I had assumed previously.) Also, I replaced the fuel lines which I sourced from a local lawnmower shop. A cheap and easy DIY fix -- no lab coat or clipboard needed. I now find that the machine starts up easily and consistently. I've had no problems over the past 2 years and, like other similar type purchases, I do accept that some tweaking is required. This blower/vac has lots of power, saving me hours of raking and sweeping.

This blower/vac is excellent (especially for the price.) I weighed it in verses an ECHO and a STIHL, but when it came down to features, extras included, and then the cost, the Husky won. I do own a Husky chainsaw and love it, so I am familiar with the brand, but I have also used many STIHL saws and blowers too. But for how it functions here are the pros: 1.) Blowing is good volume and speed for a homeowners needs 2.) Vacuum works well as it has metal mulching blades 3.) Weight is fine and doesn't bother me (I am 29 yrs old and healthy right now) 4.) Comes with oil, scrench, flat nozzle, round nozzle, vac nozzle, vac bag, and strap 5.) Easy to switch over from blow to vac Cons: 1.) Found out where not to grab when vacuuming, the muffler is in a bad spot and I have touched the area twice already I really like it so far. I have about 3/4 of an acre with multiple trees on my property. I mow and trim around an inground pool, driveway, and landscaping. So, I use this to blow grass clippings off of my pool deck (works great,) clean clippings and debris off of driveway (works great,) blow leaves into piles and vacuum up (works excellent,) and to vacuum around my landscaping to clean out leaves and other debris such as trimmings from shrubs (also works well.) I would definitely recommend this to someone if they were to ask.

My old one was purchased in 2003 as a rebranded Craftsman. It is a different color with different stickers but is otherwise built identically. Ironically this new 2023 model doesn't appear to have changed much, if at all. I've used this blower for residential maintenance nearly 1x per week minimum, all 4 seasons including light snow removal. Plenty powerful to easily move grass clippings, moderate amounts of (wet or dry) leaves and powdery snow. I've really worked this thing like a rented mule, and have done all of the repairs and maintenance along the way. Here's what I can tell you... 1. Pay attention to the bolts fastening the two halves together, especially those in the aluminum standoffs. These loosened over time and caused considerable damage when they did. If not for this, no need for me to replace it yet. Loctite red is your BFF here. 2. Run the best synthetic oil you can buy. The fuel inlet and exhaust ports and circuits are tight and can plug up very easily. 3. Use only non-ethanol gasoline, and treat it with stabilizer immediately when you fill your can and add the 2-stroke oil. These carburetors will make you pay if you don't. 4. Old one has a 40:1 mix ratio. New one states 50:1, presumably for emissions. Old one ran very very clean on 40:1. 5. Buy either a spare carburetor or several rebuild kits. Not a matter of if but when the carburetor will fail. It's a 5 minute job to rebuild and/or replace. 6. Buy the carburetor air:fuel adjustment tool. These machines seem exceptionally temperamental to all sorts of things including temperature, gasoline, air cleaner flow, etc. A very little tweak will often have a significant impact on how it runs. 7. The stock fuel lines will eventually harden and leak. Keep a fuel assembly (bulb, lines, filter) on hand. 15 minute service job. 8. Install an iridium plug. They start and fire so well, and likely will never need to ever be replaced; only inspected and cleaned every 5 years or so. 9. Remove and blow out the air filter regularly with compressed air, until it's no longer looking good. Replace then. Keep a stack of these on-hand. 10. The leaf mulching option is worth the extra cost. Some places like mulch beds are just not easy to rake, or make more mess than it's worth blowing. Sucking these out can be the best option. Just be careful not to suck up anything rigid like sticks, wood chips or rocks. If you want absolutely trouble-free, this might not be for you. Maybe buy an electric one (the battery will eventually die and need to be replaced though). If you have a bit of mechanical ability, this little monster should serve you well. My old one is still running but is finally getting a bit worn out, so I've bought this new one proactively for when it is finally retired. I did not consider for a minute buying a different model, it's that good, for me anyway.

I purchased this Husqvarna 2 Cycle Gas Blower/Vacuum, model 125BVX because of its reviews on Amazon.com. I followed all manufacture recommended requirements for operation and maintenance. Since I only used the product 20 times, 1/2 hour for each use I thought that it would last at least for the 2 year warranty period. The unit failed to start this week so I took it to a Husqvarna Service Center for warranty service. The unit only had 10 hours of use and it failed to start. I have never had a 2 cycle product fail that premature in my life. I have a CCR 2000 Toro 2 Cycle Gas Snow Blower that has been in operation for over 30 years without any problems and I live in the Pocono Mountains of PA so it gets plenty of use. The Husqvarna owner's manual states that I should not be charged a diagnostic fee for any covered warranty repair. I had to pay $15.00 as a diagnostic deposit fee when I turned it into the Husqvarna Service Center. I received a call from the Husqvarna Service Center saying that the unit would not be covered for warranty because the following was wrong: Air Filter dirty, Fuel Filter dirty, Carburetor Dirty, Piston and Cylinder scored, and Exhaust System clogged. This is truly amazing that all this can happen in the last 1/2 hour of use because the unit was operating perfectly two weeks ago and I still am using the same gas/oil mixture for the past month and the filters were checked and cleaned regularly. I called Husqvarna and they said that they would check with the service center to see what the problem is. They called me back saying that the service center confirmed the miss-use of the product and that I would not be covered under the warranty. I asked how a blower could fail after only 10 hours of use and have that much go wrong with it. No Answer except the representative kept saying that the product is covered for two years for manufacture defects (whatever that is). So what I take in this is that Husqvarna and their Service Centers have a racket going where the company sells inferior products to the consumer and the service center confirms miss-use, gets $15.00 as a bonus, and never has to provide warranty service on the product. I'll never buy another Husqvarna product again and will think twice about trusting reviews on products listed on Amazon.com.

I read a bunch of reviews concerning this blower/vacuum. Overall, the guys rated it over four. I rated it as a FIVE. OH PLEASE. . this device smokes my old McCullough to death. I was working with wet leaves in Vegas, which is unusual, especially the no dust part. The wind speed on this blower peels off the leaves from the rocks and really worked great. I even put the wide end right over the round end to make it about 8” longer which works great for a guy 6’3”. The vacuum worked great too. For the last 15 years I have been fighting my old blower because it would jam up every quarter bag or so and I would have to disassemble the thing to unclog it. This vacuum ran through 6 full bags and NEVER clogged. I even sucked up some small sticks. When I sucked on the pea gravel, I just used idle and it cleaned up the gravel real nice. So count me in on the group that just loved using the Husqvarna 125 BVx Blower/Vacuum. The thing starts very easy and runs like a champ. I did use over 90 octane fuel and it comes with a bottle of oil to mix 50:1. Buy it, you’ll like it.

This unit is a great at blowing debris,the attachment's are well constructed to fit,the suction attachment is somewhat cumbersome to connect to unit,but the sucking power is great as long as it is not damp/wet leaves a great combo for the price starts easy, the weight of the unit is easy to handle I have had no problems in starting and using the unit so far except for the attachment issue could be better for such a reputable company as they are well known for quality equipment
