The Husqvarna 46-Inch Mulch Kit easily attaches to your lawn tractor deck to help lessen or eliminate the need to rake after mowing your lawn. This kit consists of one mulch plate, two mulching blades and mounting hardware to make turning your lawn mower into a mulching mower easy. The mulch plate blocks grass from escaping from under the mower deck, leaving lawns looking pristine. Mulching is a natural way to fertilize and return nutrients to your lawn with the tiny clippings produced. This mulch kit fits riding lawn mowers and zero- turn mowers with two 46-inch blade decks. All Husqvarna tractors are equipped with premium high-lift bagging/discharge blades. Husqvarna lawn mower blades are forged with hardened steel and designed to maximize cut quality while boosting overall performance. With a high-lift, powerful suction and a clean discharge for bagging or mulching, this mulching blade set delivers excellent 4-in-1 performance. Mounted on my Husqvarna 46" tractor. The deck cover seems heavy enough to last. Install was simple (2 minutes). I believe it's meant to be installed with the original discharge chute in place, which is what I did. I haven't mowed with it yet. The deck discharge cover fits pretty tight. If grass blows out all over me like some complain about I will spend 1 minute taking it off and put some adhesive foam weatherstrip along to edge. I'm going to use my original blades for a while because I think it will mulch fine. If not, I'll change the blades, but I will have to sharpen them first. They are dull. The real mulching test will be this fall when the leaves drop. 4-18-20 update: I mowed the yard today using the mulching attachment. The tractor mulched the grass just fine with my old blades still on the mower. I Didn't use the mulching blades. The problem is the mess it made of my tractor. I spent 10-15 minutes cleaning the tractor when I was done. From now on I will only use the mulching attachment in the fall to chop up leaves, which was the main reason I bought it anyway. ... show more

I was really doubting this piece when buying it! But I be darned if i was wrong! It takes about 5 min to install the mulcher liner. With the right tools* it takes about 20 min to install the blades.

This fit perfectly on my husqvarna z246. I left my original blades on and it mulched beautifully 1.5 acre yard and not a stripe of grass left outside or behind. Nicely clipped. Groomed and exactly the look I wanted. Before the cover it blew clippings 9 feet away and I never could get that to disappear even by letting it dry and going over it again. last week I raked some of it manually just to get rid of it. This week with the mulching cover I did not have to rake or look at any leftovers. Very happy indeed Those new blades are not the same tinsel or thickness but may be good in a pinch down the road. I labled the box and stowed it away for later. It's Worth the price for My yard to look that nice! Very satisfied. I did remove the rod and spring and the old chute so I could mow closer. I tore up one locking washer on the Rod removing it with My pliers. But I do Not Plan to reconnect the chute ever again. ... show more
