AN AMAZON TOP 25 BESTSELLER! The conclusion to the Cat and Mouse Duet is here... “If she were to die… the world would die with her.” The worst Adeline Reilly expected for her life were a few unholy ghosts haunting the hallways of Parsons Manor, not falling in love with her stalker and ending up in the clutches of a trafficking ring. Trapped in a house used to groom women for the elite, she faces the biggest fight of her life—survive the Culling and escape. But that’s not so easy when watchful eyes are determined to see her fail. However, Adeline may have an unlikely ally, who just might be the key to her getting out alive. But trusting them is a risk that could cost her everything. Meanwhile, Zade will stop at nothing until Adeline is safe in his arms again, even if he must burn the world to find her. Hunting his little mouse is what he’s best at, but who she’ll be when he finds her is a battle that he doesn’t know he can win. It won’t be the test of time they must survive, but the memories of who they once were. Warning: This is the second and final installment to the Duet. You must read Haunting Adeline first. • A-ma-Z-ing!
The duet of Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline is one of the best I've ever read. The characters are fascinating - over the top - yet still relatable and likable. The situations they find themselves in are out there, but believable enough to make sense within the boundaries of the stories' universe. The stories hit on all the emotions being creepy, amuzing, horrifying on several levels, sad, empowering, devastating, and laugh-out-loud-in-a-public-place funny. Sometimes, all at once! I loved these books, and if you are into dark romance, you'll love them too. Hurray for H. D. Carlton! ... show more

This book has so many omg moments. Action and suspense throughout the book. This was a Rollercoaster read with all the ups and downs and as soon as you think you can breathe you realize you can't. If you liked the first book in this series will will enjoy this one as well.

  • Mixed Emotions...
I'll start by saying that the book itself was not bad at all. I loved the storyline and how it unfolded. I had no idea who Gigi's killer was until close to the end of the book. She did a great job only dropping small pieces of clues so you were just as unnerved as Addie and Dayla. Zade's side of the story was great too. There was plenty of action and suspense. It is a definite trigger warning for dark scenes but if you can handle them it makes you understand Zade better and why he is the way that he is. You can't help but love him even just a little for what he does and endures to better the world. It shows you the side of Zade that is still very dark and thoroughly evil but you cheer him on for it. My problem with the book was purely personal preference. I struggle with books with no consent. I LOVE dark romance but deep down I still need the definite romance. It doesn't all have to be lovey dovey romance but I need some sembelance of love for my characters. I struggled to feel that with the MC. It was more obsession than love for me. In my opinion, love and respect go hand in hand. You cannot truely love someone without respecting them and I didn't get that vibe from Zade. I powered through though and kept reading. I could start to feel the connection between the two growing and I understand what the author was trying to portray. Addie like to push the limits and you start to uncover her dark side as well. I understood she enjoyed the fight but there were still times when she seemed genuinely not to consent and Zade didn't respect that boundary. So while I rooted for Zade in his work life, it was hard for me to want him to succeed with Addie. I'm not giving up on them yet! I am dedicated enough to press on and go for book 2. Hopefully seeing them go through the trials ahead will change their mindset and in turn change mine. ... show more

  • Good Read
I loved this book. It was definitely dark and twisted. It was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. This series was the first books I’ve read by this author and I’m highly impressed. The passion was so palpable. Zane’s character was so intense. I could feel his need to devour Adeline, to crawl inside her and become one (a scary thought). Half the time I couldn’t tell if it was love or hate that drove him. Adeline’s character was so strong. I hate weak characters, and I can assure you week was not Adeline. She had a few spots I wanted to smack her myself, but luckily those times didn’t last long. She endures a lot, yet keeps fighting. And Sibby, thank you for Sibby coming back. I think I speak for hundreds, we love Sibby. I really hope her disappearance means we haven’t heard the last from her or the sexy nurses assistants. This book was great. Now on to Finding Molly. ... show more

  • Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about this book. It was so freaking dark. Intensly so. I had to put it down multiple times and take a break because it was too much for me. I was also relatively annoyed with the amount of metaphors in the book. Particularly during the spicy scenes. A few metaphors sprinkled here and there are great, but when they go on for 2 or 3 pages at a time? It is a bit ridiculous. All of that being said, I did find myself appreciating Zade and his organization. I do not condone murder or stalking, but how many women and children did he save? Where are the vigilanties in the real world? I want to know that if I or my children are ever trafficked, that someone is out there saving and protecting us. I also really appreciated the way the author poportrayed PTSD. Normally what I see in books is the trauma occurs and then the MC moves on from it. This book accurately portrays how even when you are actively healing, even when you take your life back into your own hands, the trauma and the hurt are still there and can rear their ugly heads at any moment. I went into this series with open eyes. I didn't expect to enjoy them but I had to jump on the hype train. And there were definitely moments that I almost DNF'd the book. But not because it wasn't good. Because it was so incredibly dark. ... show more

  • Love Note to H. D.
I don't even know what to say. This was one way to be edged. The triggers are valid...if you can hang, then stay till the end because it is worth every second of life I gave to read this book. If they scare you, put the book down and run in the other direction. This isn't for the hinged, white picket fence, vanilla kinda person; no judgements, know your boundaries. That may be why I loved it so much. Thank you, H. D. ... show more

  • Amazing and thrilling!
Adeline has been taken and Zade won't rest until he finds her. Definitely some twists and turns in this book, but the character development was done so well you don't feel lost or like you don't understand where the characters are coming from. Just when you think they can't turn up the heat any hotter......they do! Definitely some very explicit "scenes" and triggers for some readers, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story. ... show more
