I bought this for some extra warmth for the 2022 PA deer season. Being up in a tree in 20º-35º cold with moderate winds is uncomfortable for me even with heavy, insulated, gloves. I placed two 10hr hand warmer packs in the front zipper pocket but found that I couldn't push my hands with my normal hunting glove "on" into the pockets. Removed the gloves and found the muff was respectably warm. It made life much more palatable in the PA cold. Next year I'll switch to rechargeable hand warmers even though the chemical packs worked well. For what I paid, I was quite happy with them.

I tried multiple hand warmers and this is the best that I tried. Good quality, two large zippered pockets and two other pockets. The inside feels like a thick fleece and the V shape allows me to put my rechargeable heater in the middle and it warms the entire inside and never moves. The knit openings are much better than the other ones I tried. The long strap allows me to wear it over and heavy coat or cinch it up a bit and wear it over a light jacket on days in the 40’s. I’m very happy with this handwarmer, the others I returned the first day I had them.

The muff is warm and I like the placement of the pockets. I bought it to use for bowhunting however and it had a distinct chemical smell similar to one a foam seat pad might have. I washed it in scent killer detergent by hand and air dried it outside and that helped. I can still detect the smell however and if I can smell it, I KNOW the deer will too. Great muff just not for bowhunting in my opinion.

Had a chance to try this muff out this passed weekend. Temperatures were not terribly cold but were hovering 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit a better part of the morning. These worked flawless. Hands were not cold at all . Had a pack of hand warmers put in there and made it really!! warm but we’re not entirely necessary as the muff itself was warm to begin with. Pocket storage worked well for loose things on hand. Overall fantastic product. One regret is that I didn’t get this sooner.

This is a great muff! My only reason for rating it a four on ergonomics is the ridiculously long waist strap. I have a 34” waist and still had to tie two knots in the strap to get it to stay around me, even in full winter gear. The warmth and construction are excellent! I really like all of compartments - plenty of room for hunting accessories!

I was in the market for a hunting muff that I could use while bow and gun hunting. I wanted something that would keep my hands warm on those chilly morning in the woods. My main reason for buying a hunting muff was to not have to wear gloves and worry about pulling off my glove on my dominant hand for the trigger either on a release or a gun. This is the perfect product. I decided to go with the Hunter Safety System brand hunting muff because I’ve purchased their safety harness in the past and it has held up through years of abuse. This brand is more pricy than the others on the market but it is worth the extra money to spend. This is a quality product that holds up, keeps my hands warm with the addition of throwing some hand warmers in there on the really bitter cold mornings. It gets so warm in the muff that my hands start sweating. It is quiet when you move around in it. And has ample room to stuff your hands and forearms in. It also comes with two pockets one of which I keep my phone in and the other that I keep extra bullets. My recommendation would be to spend the money on the better quality proven hunting muff instead of trying to save $15 and ending up hating the other brand you bought. You won’t be disappointed with the hunter safety system brand hunting muff. 10/10 recommend.
