We lost the remote to our hunter fan. Bought this and after disassembling the fan wiring it up and putting it back together it would only control the fan not the light. This is because our fan had an internal receiver. I even tried to bypass the internal receiver and then only the light would work. If you open your fan and find the item in the picture this product won’t work. If you never had a remote this probably works great. Of if you had an after market receiver this probably can replace it. But didn’t work for me. Two hours of disassembling, testing, bypassing, and reassembling was painful. But now we know and hopefully you will too. Open the fan before you order. This receiver was inside the light assembly easy to access. Check before you buy. Requested a return of this item and found a factory remote on eBay will see if that works. Check your receiver number and if it’s not listed in the description, this product likely won’t work on your fan. ... show more

You would think that ceiling fan remotes all work mostly the same. Turn light on/off, turn fan on/off, adjust fan speed, dim the light. These are not unreasonable expectations, but many ceiling fan remote controls do not come close to meeting those expectations. This one does, in spades. After having tried multiple remotes with a variety of brands of ceiling fans, this is the one I keep coming back to for reliability, strength of signal, and simplicity of features. Remote doesn't come with a battery. Requires a coin CR 2032. Put a brand new battery and remote functions intermittently. Move the battery around a little and the it works, for while. The fan motor now hums, constantly. It didn't before the install. It gets louder the higher the speed setting. I bought a Hunter fan because they are so quite, not any more. ... show more
