Overall, it is very effective training aid for dogs. I tested both the vibrate and shock abilities on myself before using it on my pup. I prefer the vibrate function as the shock is VERY effective even on level one (lowest). The vibrate is more annoying than painful. The range is really good. I was about a football field away and my dog was misbehaving and I used the vibrate functionality. After I used the vibrate function, he behaved properly again. My favorite part of this shock collar is the lock out switch. I turned on the lock out and put the radio in my pocket. I didn't realize the ratio was on and the button was being pushed but luckily my dog wasn't being shocked because of the lock out. That makes me feel so good knowing he's not being "displined" while he's actually being 100% good boy. The product overall is great but users please remember to use the shock feature under extreme bad behavior moments. While I don't like it and I know my dog won't like it, it's not something to be used lightly. So please, please, please, remember dogs are living animals and they need love and respect too. This product helps reduce challenges they can run into later in their life. I highly recommend this product.

There are cases when a stronger enforcement may be needed. I rescue English bulldogs that have severe aggression issues due to being abused. These pups would be put down if I don't take them in. To date I have NEVER had to use the "shock" enforcement of any collar and I hope to never have to use the one on this collar. I have bought probably 10 different collars and all of them come with the thing you put across the posts to test to see if it works. There is a light bulb that lights up in the tester. On every single one of the collars except for this one changing the level only changed how long the shock was for, it didn't change the intensity of the shock. This one actually changes the intensity.. This is how it is supposed to be.. I tip my hat to the company that finally got this right.... I did want to mention that I have not even put this collar onto any of my dogs. The dog whistle that comes with it is FANTASTIC. English Bulldogs are stubborn to no end. I would have to go out and collect them one at a time to get them to come inside the house if they didn't want to come in. Now I blow that whistle a single time and all 5 of them come running no matter where they are in my yard (1 acre fenced). I am happy with having paid the money for the collar and it can sit there on my counter collecting dust and never have to use it. Bravo once again for the whistle.

Since I misplaced the directions at the start, it took me a long time to figure out how to increase the shock mode ! In fact I couldn't, so I had to go to the add for it on amazon and look at the pictures to figure it out. This is actualy a good thing!!-- so that any children who get hold of the control ...wont just raise the Zap level for the poor doggie!! Nicely made training collar. I still wish people would make a buckle collar rather then a snap one, the snap ones I have had -come unsnapped quite easily, especially if a another dog is playing with them, or I have had it just fall off and get lost!! The only time they dont come unsnapped... is when you are trying to get them off the dog yourself !! :)

This unit seems well made and looks good also. I have only used it sparingly so far, I don’t really have many problems with my dog. This was to be used to keep him inside the perimeter of my property. It works at a distance of about 60-70 yards, that is far less than its advertised claim. Maybe out in the wide open it would project farther but I have a lot of trees. I have another unit for barking control that works ok, I will probably keep using it till I figure this unit out fully. It is priced along with the higher end units and I think you would benefit from it if you are not trying to reach out to extreme distances. 4🌟’s
