This HTVRONT window privacy film provides privacy and installs easily. Pros: - Installs with soap and water. The instructions call for a spray bottle but I use a washcloth dipped in soapy water. - It has surprisingly effective adhesion. - It does not leave any residue behind when removed. This is particularly useful if you don't get it aligned properly on your first try. You can just pull it off and try again. - The film gently filters sunlight without blocking it, which is great to keep rooms sunny and bright. - You can get decent privacy without using curtains or shades. This is great if you have a cat or other pet that chews, claws, or otherwise terrorizes window treatments. Cons: - I had to remove air bubbles after installation. You can use a ruler, credit card, or anything reasonably firm with a straight edge. It would be much easier with a squeegee blade or something like a silicon dough cutter, neither of which I had around. It would be handy if this came with a small tool for this purpose. - It is a little bit hard to cut straight without an additional tool, such as a yard stick, cutting mat, etc. You know how sometimes you buy wrapping paper and there is a grid pattern on the back to help you cut it straight? It would be handy if the backing had something like this. - The film prevents onlookers from seeing details. However, someone can still see indistinct moving shapes if it is dark outside and you have the lights on inside. The film has its benefits, but is not as effective as curtains or blinds. Despite its minor drawbacks, I really like this type of window film.
