This is an awesome microscope for a budding, inquisitive mind! It's very well equipped with no hard edges, making it safe for kids. It has very powerful magnification, great for observing petri dishes or other finer materials. It comes with an adapter to set up with your phone to view the images at a high resolution or to capture photos and videos of what it is that you're observing. It will come with lenses to equip with it that only further enhance the focal power of the magnifying glass. If you ever run into issues, there are intelligently codes usbs for debugging what your issues might be. There's a switch to turn the light on and off, it comes with a nicely made carrying back to make it easy to store or tote back forth from the classroom to home, it can be run off battery or an ac adapter - - and you should be careful to not have both modes running at the same time! It's an awesome value for including everything you need to have small, observable lab.
