    • Instruction manual needs to be rewritten

There's nothing wrong with the product, but the instruction manual leaves a lot to desire. And not the fault of the kit, but some of the screws were almost impossible to remove. I had to buy a heat gun which worked on most of them. But the last one would not come out so I had to use an exact bit. Of course I had none of this equipment so I had to buy it from Amazon. I still have two screws to remove and I bought a soldering iron from Amazon because I saw on YouTube If you heat the screw up with a soldering iron it might work. Why they would put a locking fluid on screws that are recommended to be removed every 12 to 18 months, is beyond me. If the soldering iron does not work I don't know what I'm going to do. ... show more

I ended up replacing just the piston ring gaskets and sleeves as the other oring gaskets seemed to be in good shape and sealing well. the top portion of the piston head actually didn't seem to want to come apart so I didn't force it. I did cam out and strip the heads of the piston bolts - note you'll probably need to heat piston bolt head/valve plate with a propane torch to loosen up the thread locker used. I ended up needing to use easy outs with impact driver to remove the bolts. Seller was very helpful though and sent me bag of replacement piston bolts in 2 days. Gaskets are very difficult to install and need to be formed to fit in the sleeve. My technique was to press in the gasket using my fingernails to set it around the valve plate prior to setting it in and bolting it in place with the piston bolt. I then formed up the edges of the piston ring gasket with my fingers to add necessary curl to the gasket. Once I got the curl in the gasket I unbolted it and removed the valve plate and was then able to fit the valve plate with gasket into the piston sleeve - get in carefully set in position and bolted on. It was a chore taking longer than I'd like to admit, but did seem to work. ... show more

It was an easy fix. Extra parts where included for different models than mine. Be sure not to try to make those parts fit. I would buy it again for my second back up pump. Could not find a less expensive option on Amazon.

    • Does Not fit HQUA-PAS20 compressor

This product does NOT fit the compressor that came with the PS-20 pond aeration system. The piston caps do not fit the pistons, and the cylinders are taller than the original cylinders, making it impossible to reassemble the compressor. Of course one doesn’t know this until one has completely torn down the compressor. HQUA Tech support offered to replace the kit with an older style which might fit my compressor, but I can't wait for weeks while this kit ships from China. I returned the kit for a refund, threw away the worn out compressor and bought a replacement from a different company for a whole lot less money than what I paid for the HQUA. ... show more

I order following the information book that came with my aeration system. The O ring gasket and the piston cap were the only things that fit. The piston cylinder was about 1/4inch too tall and there was only one set of head gaskets in the pack and they did not fit my system. The pump is running and sounding better with what I could use. ... show more

The circular gaskets in the rebuild kit weren't the correct size. Didn't have time or the patience to return the kit so I reused the original gaskets. Defeats the purpose of doing a rebuild but I had no other options
