    • Did not work on Maxtor Personal Storage 3200
This power cord is described on Amazon as compatible with a Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 hard drive. However, when I plugged it into mine, the drive's green power indicator pulsed but would not light steadily. Also, a pulsing sound from the hard drive itself sounded like it was trying unsuccessfully to spin up. The drive did not work. I wondered if perhaps my old hard drive was the problem. However, I later found the Maxtor's original power cord (which I had misplaced) and the drive worked fine with that cord. Therefore, I advise caution in ordering this cord; the one you get might or might not work for you. I was willing to give it a try after seeing that at a reviewer said it DID work on their Maxtor, even though at least one other said it did not.
