This is a condensed version of what I when through. I have done a lot of IT-related work, so I think I figured it out but you may not want to go through all this trouble. I chose these plugs because I needed one that would fit in a recessed outlet. Not the easy install they proclaim it to be. Followed their simple instructions. Got it to work in 15 minutes as plug 1 through Alexa. However, telling Alexa to turn on the plug also turned on my Alexa-enable fan without my prompting. The alternative installation goes through their “Smart Home” app. It recognized the plug. The default name as written in Chinese, I believe (which was a surprise). I changed it to my preferred English name but my Alexa app kept the plug 1 name, not what I wanted. Through various re-sets and attempts, sometimes Alexa found this plug as a new device and sometimes it did not. When Alexa did find it, afterward Alexa often said the plug was disabled. The hopefully final installation involved manually setting it up through Alexa, logging into the “Smart Home” app in Alexa, and telling Alexa to add the device. BTW, doing this makes me think I when to a Chinese website to do this. Anyway, in summary, I believe there are easier installs from other companies for Alexa-enabled smart plugs. ... show more

    • 30 plugs later and 27 are unresponsive VERY DISSAPOINTED!!

I purchased these to replace my Wi-Fi plugs. I figured the mesh would decrease the need for my Internet. Thus increasing my internet speed for work. The set up was super easy. They worked for a few hours and then 27 show as unresponsive. I reset them all. I then attempted to set them up through their smart life app. I had used this app before when I had their wifi plugs. I had no issues with the wifi set up. These plugs though are a nightmare. Alexa discovered them quickly but after that 27/30 are unresponsive and nothing I do will get them set up correctly. I can’t get ahold of customer service for support. After resetting a few times now the plugs will no longer reset. Such a waste of time and money. Very very disappointed. ... show more

I set up all 4 lights exactly the same way. 1 worked correctly. After several hours, the others were finally able to connect to the Smart Life app. Alexa still shows 3/4 unresponsive. Unbelievable..

Easy to use and well made. Great for use with pet heater and to have lamps turn on before entering home. I like to use mine to turn lights off and on while I’m away so it looks like someone’s moving about the house. Great deal!
