I use it to power my HF radio. I thought I had to buy linear power supplies for my radio equipment to avoid noise from the switching power supply, but it is not an issue. These are light, cool to the touch, quiet, do not make radio interference. These new ones are superior to linear power supplies.

When I purchase a power supply there are two main things I'm looking for, quiet operation, and consistent power output. This power supply fits the bill perfectly. It is cool and quiet. It has a cigarette lighter port for attaching a device, plus two screw terminals at the rear of the unit to supply power. It provides a steady 13.8 volts of power for my ham radios. It is absolutely quiet sitting on my desk. If I could rate this power supply six stars I would do it with gusto!

I purchased this power supply several months ago for my new Icom IC-9700. The IC-9700 requires 1.2 amps on receive and 18 amps on transmit so this power supply should be more than adequate. I am very satisfied with the performance of this power supply with one issue. After a few minutes on receive the fan would turn on. It sounded like a vacuum cleaner! I contacted BTech support to see if they could suggest anything to quiet it down. They promptly offered an RMA but I was not ready to give up so soon. I finally found a replacement fan 40x40x20mm with adequate air flow rated at 19.5 db. The fan noise is hardly noticeable now and I am a happy camper. 73 de K4RS
