Top Amazon Reviews

  • solid, relyable and well worth the money
Style: 15A Configuration: Single
This revue is for the cyber power 1-u power distribution unit When the unit arrived I noticed it came in a huge box twice its size. I started to worry that the company sent out the wrong unit. However once I started unboxing the device I saw it contained a smaller box with the actual item in it. The box it shipped in was ridiculously gigantic though! Not a bad thing, these devices are sensitive to being abruptly handled so the unit arrived safely and in 1 piece. No surface or otherwise detectable internal damage was found. The unit is solidly built and although I don’t have an actual rack fixture more on that in a bit, the unit meets my expectations for the most part. I have it sitting under my computer desk at the moment. No rubber feet but it is intended to be affixed to rack mounting posts. I am planning to order a small rack soon from amazon. I needed something with enough outlets to supply power to 4 synthesizers, a pair of KRK rocket RP5s, a digital audio workstation computer, mixer, and my video monitor. I needed the device to be solid and reliable and so that I would have some outlets left over for charging or connecting other equipment as needed. Pros Enough outlets Front switch door to prevent accidental switch offs ideal for those who plan to use this in mission critical applications such as in server application Long cable at least 5ft Outlets grip plugs firmly and equipment can’t be accidentally unplugged easily Pilot light to let the operator know unit is energized and working Rack mountable by design Chassis is Metal shell housing as opposed to cheap plastic Outlets are all properly grounded important for safety and avoiding annoying 60 Hz buzz through audio equipment Conns Will slide around if you have it setup like I have it now Unit as far as I know isn’t serge protected nor does it contain a resettable fuse though I could be wrong and had I held on to the manual would have some knowledge on if fuse is located internally do to unit being of commercial grade and not built so that the average consumer could repair it Mounting ears can get in the way if you have it sitting on a surface as I do. This can be annoying and can scuff up nearby equipment. Would be nice if they made it so that they were removable. I’ve seen it done on other rack gear. Switch feels a bit flimsy but doesn’t shoot out sparks or crackle if partially pressed as I’ve experienced with other cheaper power strips so: safe enough Outlets are on the back so not to accessible would be cool if they gave you 2 extra outlets on the front Main power cable is permanently attached making it harder to repair if it gets damaged or warn out would be cool if it was a standard IEC pc type connector offering more options. ... show more

  • Perfect in combination with a UPS
Style: 15A Configuration: Single
I added a UPS to my rack setup recently, so I needed to pull my old surge-suppression PDU and add one that doesn't have any built-in surge suppression (that function is handled by the UPS now). It voids the UPS's equipment warranty if you have devices hooked to a surge strip of any kind, so you need something like this instead. I'm very happy with what CyberPower produced here! Plenty of outlets, a nice long cord (it was overkill for my setup, but still great that they have it), and the plastic protective cover over the power switch is a nice touch to prevent accidental switch presses. It's a heavy gauge of steel and feels VERY sturdy. It's doing the job I bought it for, and it looks good in the rack. Great product. ... show more

  • Outlets front and back make this great for PA racks
Style: 15A with Surge Protection Configuration: Single
I've bought no less than five of these now for putting together PA racks for use at music venues. They work great because the back plugs can be utilized for equipment in the rack while the front plugs are great for add on equipment like a wireless mic receiver, power cord for a powered monitor, pedal board power, etc. Cord is plenty hefty and long enough for almost al applications. ... show more

  • Great surge strip
Style: 15A with Surge Protection Configuration: Single
I usually use the minuteman DRS-1215 but these were a good price so I got them. They’re excellent. I highly recommend them. They’re rack mountable and much cheaper than the minuteman version

  • Good price, good product, poor packaging
Style: 15A with Surge Protection Configuration: Single
The price is good, the amount of outlets and Joule protection are good too, unfortunately my unit arrived with one of the rack mounting tabs warped out of shape. The box it came in is extremely flimsy, I was lucky it was packed into another box with something else I ordered because this box on it's own would have not survived the shipping. I can see where the original box was damaged causing the mount to be bent. All outlets work though I have not had a chance to test them with a ground meter yet. A few screws and bolts for mounting would have been nice but these are not included. The design is fairly solid, it's metal but a soft metal that allows bending of the mounting tabs pretty easy (so I was able to bend it back the way it should be with my hands). The spacing between the outlets on the back is great for use with adapters (routers, firewalls, weird shaped plugs). The power button is covered with a plastic cover. While a nice touch, it seems like it was not part of the original design and slapped on afterwards. It's very thin so probably won't survive very long if you use it often. It also makes the overall design look cheap as it really takes away from the solid matte black design. The 3 LED lights (Power, Ground, Surge // Orange, Green, Red) are nice but the power LED is ridiculously bright!! The Ground and Surge LED's are a subtle matte glow but the Power LED can light up a small room (I tested this). There is no reason for it to be this bright specially since the power button itself has an LED in it too. I'll adjust this review once I test every outlet with a ground meter and a heavy load. Overall it will do what it needs to do, is very compact (depth) and the long (thick and sturdy) power cord is nice too. Packaging needs to be addressed as does the choice in Power LED. Update: Went from a 3 star to a 4 star rating. Started a chat with Amazon to say the unit was damaged. I was offered a replacement unit or a $10 partial refund. I went for the $10 to save me the hassle. This now made the product/price more awesome so I recommend contacting Amazon support if your unit arrives (or has arrived) damaged. Smooth support from Amazon. ... show more

  • Great Power Supply
Style: 15A Configuration: Single
Exactly what is described. Great rack mounted power supply with a heavy duty power cord. My only complaint is that it does not come with mounting screws. Still 5 stars.
