After using it a few times the reel don’t even lock … it was amazing at first glides nice and all and then after a few uses blah I wish I could get a refund! Or another to replace this one I ONLY GOT IT TEO WEEKS AGO!

This is a good value for the occasional angler, or for the serious angler that likes to entertain novice anglers without risking expensive, high quality, gear. I really like this reel's folding handle, and the quick action mechanism for doing so. It makes it much easier to store in tight quartered rod lockers on the boat. I would like to see that feature on more reels. I haven't had any issues with drag slippage, or gear slipping when hauling in a fish. The downside to this reel is weight. It is heavy when you are used to top-tier brands, and will wear on you if you are going to spin cast all day long. If you are fishing for just a couple hours, or maybe not performing continuous spin-casting, then you shouldn't have any issues. I haven't torn this reel apart to take a look at its innards, but I am guessing it has plastic gears, and mediocre bearings (no, not all bearings are created equal). I actually purchased a second one of these reels and put both on a couple Ugly Sticks to allow visitors to use. They were used this last summer, and no complaints from anyone. We fished for Browns and Lakers without issue. Know what you are buying, and I think you will be pleased. I would recommend this for occasional anglers, or for those that are just getting started and don't have a lot of money to invest in the plethora of things we all think we need to go fishing. ... show more

Absolute value, I put 30lb braid on it with a 9’ surf rod, drag work great smooth casting, only gripe is that for it being a 5000 the handle and knob is small
