Update: Battery life is okay. I got a solid 7 hours of continuous work in before it hit the 19% mark and went into battery saver mode. This is a terrific computer for regular use. I got the 32GB RAM, 1TB version. It's fast, the display is nice, tons of space, lightweight. The red color is pretty great too. Another review mentioned that they didn't receive one with touch pad buttons like the product images show. Mine has them. Too new to judge battery life. I shopped around before I ordered it. Laptops with comparable RAM, hard drive space and processor were 2x-4x the price elsewhere. I'm sure they have features that matter to some users. For the price point, this is a pretty decent machine. The red color is very eye-catching and everything performs as you’d expect on the device. If you’re looking for something that runs decently and won’t completely drain your savings to purchase, this is a good purchase. I’m only deducting a single star because the laptop comes with windows 11 pre-installed, and it tries to shoehorn you into setting everything up on the cloud even though the device has plenty of space internally. Once you turn all of that off and start working with files locally, all is good. But you will definitely want to do that if you wish to avoid working out of the dreaded Office online programs like the cloud version of Excel. ... show more

I bought this laptop for home use when I retired. I had a small Dell, but it didn’t have much storage. It is very easy to set up and use. The color is bright and very nice looking from just your regular silver ones. Very nice laptop for the price.

    • VOIDED HP WARRANTY

UPDATE: After tolerating this really poor performing laptop almost a year, I have repeatedly tried getting the latest WIN11 update but it fails with an error message each time. Today I spent an hour on the phone with HP support only to be told that because of inferior memory and hard drive (non-HP OEM) my warranty had been voided. After going round-and-round with Amazon, I finally got a supervisor on the phone and ultimately was told to return the laptop and I would get a full refund. Thank you, Amazon, for doing the right thing - but perhaps you need to check into this vendor a bit closer if they are doing things that void a manufacturers warranty. ------------------------------------- I thought this was the perfect laptop and I even had a specific recommendation on this unit. However, I've been disappointed at the slow speed at various times. I'm an HP guy and had an older HP laptop and I have an HP desktop, plus HP printers - so it's not out of lack of loyalty that I say this. The battery life is amazingly good - although I wish it had a USB-C charging system rather than the bulky power cord and box-type inline charger. The keypad is comfortable and I adapted to it quickly, and I don't have the problem I've had in the past of my thumb rubbing across the touch-pad and moving the cursor. The screen display is excellent - the best I've ever had on a laptop. Bottom line, I should have investigated a bit further - because of the processing speed and the oversize charging cord. ... show more

I bought two of these to use at my karaoke shows and they have been amazing. Fast and lots of storage. Can’t be beat for the price. I have already had other DJs buy some after seeing this deal.

HP in it's wisdom, put the electric cord in the right corner, so the cord many times get in the way of the mouse. The two usb ports are next to the electric cord, which also gets in the way. If you are left handed, it may be nice, but not if you are right handed. This model, the keyboard does not light up. It is speedy, lightweight.
