We replaced an aging tower desktop with this HP OmniStudio, and the transition has been smoother than I expected. The all-in-one format was a calculated risk—you give up some upgradeability in exchange for eliminating the tower, the cable runs behind the desk, and the general footprint of a traditional desktop setup. For how we actually use a home computer, that trade-off has been completely worth it. The 23.8-inch display is where this machine makes its first impression, and it’s a good one. The screen is sharp and bright with accurate color reproduction. I’m not color grading professional cinema, but I need to trust that what I’m seeing on screen reflects reality, and this display gives me that confidence. Viewing angles are wide enough that my wife and I can both look at something together without one of us getting a washed-out image from the side. The AMD Ryzen processor handles our workload without breaking a sweat. I regularly run video editing software alongside a browser with multiple tabs, reference images, and music playback simultaneously, and the system stays responsive throughout. The fan does its job quietly in the background—I’m not constantly aware of it ramping up the way I was with our old machine under similar loads. The built-in camera and microphone are genuinely good by all-in-one standards, which matters more than people expect. Video calls look and sound better than what we were getting with the webcam clipped to the old monitor, and I’ve used the built-in camera for quick recording sessions when setting up my full camera rig wasn’t worth the effort. The speakers surprised me. Built-in desktop speakers are usually an afterthought, but these produce clear, full audio that’s adequate for music and video playback at normal listening volumes. I still route critical audio work through external monitors, but for casual use these are better than any all-in-one speakers I’ve encountered. The stand is adjustable for height, which sounds minor until you’ve used a monitor stuck at one fixed height for years. Getting the screen to the right eye level has made a noticeable difference in how my neck feels at the end of a long session. The stand is also sturdy—no wobble when typing or touching the screen. About ten years ago Mrs. Engineer switched from an outdated desktop to using a Microsoft Surface and her phone for her various activities. Now she’s ready to go back to a real computer again, and since her uses are not demanding, I was happy to see this compact All-in-One unit become available. Because of where it’s located I will use it only occasionally and she will be the principal user. UNBOXING/DESCRIPTION I’ve included a series of photos showing the unboxing process and details of what’s included. Because I have no control over the order in which Amazon presents the photos, I’ve numbered them in red type to make it clearer what’s being shown at the different stages. There’s also a 3-second video showing the stand being seated into the back of the main unit. Make sure you hear the click that indicates that the display is securely mounted to the stand. Photo 8 shows the accessories list, and photo 11 shows everything that’s included in addition to the display and the stand. The final photo shows the product fully assembled and in place on Mrs. Engineer’s desk. I think it has an elegant design, and since it arrived I actually find myself sticking my head in the door from time to time just to admire it. USE There’s not too much to say about its use. It’s an entry level Windows 11 computer – not a high-performance machine (see my comments under PRICE below) – and there’s not really any point in running benchmark tests on it. The keyboard is light, has a solid feel and a nice action and is quiet. The wired mouse is very light – lighter than I prefer – and is unduly affected by the weight and bends of the cord. We’ll switch to a wireless mouse soon. It started up and transferred all of Mrs. Engineer’s Microsoft Surface information and it’s also linked to her Android phone. It behaves exactly the way it’s supposed to as a Windows 11 machine. PRICE This product has a 24” display an AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor, a 512 GB SSD, 8 GB of RAM, “Wi-Fi” (type unspecified), a single HDMI port and a wired mouse and wired keyboard. For a price about 20% higher than this product’s price at the time of this review Amazon lists the OmniStudio X All-in-One with a 27” display, an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, a 512 GB SSD PLUS a 500 GB external drive, Wi-Fi 7, two HDMI ports and a wireless mouse and keyboard. All of these are significant upgrades over this lower-end product at little extra cost, making this item poorer value for money than its bigger OmniStudio X brother on Amazon. CONCLUSIONS This is an attractive and well-designed All-in-One from a name brand that will handle non-demanding tasks for home users. Out of the box it looks the part, and setup went smoothly enough if you don't mind the Windows account dance. I ended up bypassing that step with some commands because I really didn't want another Microsoft login attached to my life, and it was more annoying than it needed to be. Once I actually got into Windows 11 though, performance was rough. With 8gb of RAM the whole thing felt slow as a box of rocks for even basic browsing with a few tabs open, and I eventually gave up and wiped it to install Ubuntu just to get something usable out of the machine. That's a lot to ask of someone who isn't comfortable doing that kind of thing. The display is fine for occasional use, the kind of thing you'd want for a shared family computer that gets touched every once in a while. For actual all-day office work I'd find it tiring. It's a pretty large panel for 1080p, so the pixels are noticeable if you sit at a normal desk distance, and the colors come across washed out compared to what I'd expect at this price point. The keyboard and mouse that come in the box are both fine, nothing really to complain about, but I was honestly a little surprised they're both wired given what this thing costs. Wireless feels like teh minimum for an all-in-one in 2026. Serviceable as a secondary or guest machine, especially if you're willing to swap the OS like I did. But with only 8gb of RAM paired with a 512gb SSD at this price, it's really hard to feel good about the value here. If HP bumped the memory and tightened up the display, this would be a much easier recommendation. ... show more

    • Perfect Family Computer with a Clean Setup
We picked up this HP OmniStudio for our living room, and it has been a great fit for what we needed. One of the biggest things I like about it is how clean the setup is. There is basically just a single power cable running to the computer, so you do not end up with a bunch of wires cluttering up the room. The display is excellent. It is bright, sharp, and looks great whether someone is browsing the web, doing schoolwork, or streaming videos. Since it sits in a common area of the house, having a nice looking screen was important, and this definitely delivers. Setup was quick and easy, and the all in one design keeps everything neat and organized. We specifically wanted something the whole family could use without turning the living room into a computer desk covered in cables and accessories. Performance has been solid for everyday tasks, and the SSD keeps things feeling responsive. I really want to love this Omni studio all in one desktop the industrial design and physical form is excellent. The port selection on the back is good for most home users. Great computer all around was able to do web browsing watching videos and light MS office work with no trouble. I did fire up Minecraft and it ran OK at lower settings, but wasn’t a very smooth gaming experience. I wouldn’t try to play anything more graphically intensive on this machine overall I really wanted to love this machine but at the price point it’s not a great value I do like the Machine, however, and my daughters will be using it at home. These all-in-one desktops are great for placing in a family living room room if kids aren’t old enough to have a computer in their rooms yet. Look up the benchmarks online. It’s a little bit slow, and the ram cannot be upgraded as it is on package with the CPU. I definitely think the memory is the biggest limiting factor for most task and the GPU is limiting factor for any gaming but overall it’s a great machine and would get five stars if the price point was a little bit lower. ... show more

I think this all-in-one PC does some things well, but for the price, I honestly expected much better hardware. It looks nice and works fine for basic everyday tasks, but the specs feel pretty underwhelming considering the cost. The display is actually one of the better parts of the system. The screen looks sharp, colors are nice, and the 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smoother than a standard office PC. The all-in-one design is also clean and doesn’t take up much desk space, which I liked. For basic web browsing, streaming, office work, and light multitasking, it works perfectly fine. The SSD also helps the system feel responsive during normal use. The problem is the value for the money. At around this price point, only getting 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD feels pretty disappointing in 2026. Even a lot of cheaper systems are offering 16GB RAM and 1TB storage now, so the hardware here feels very limited for the cost. I was also not very impressed with the processor performance. It’s okay for basic use, but it’s definitely a lower-powered chip and doesn’t feel like something that belongs in a system at this price range. The integrated graphics are fine for casual use, but this is definitely not a machine I would recommend for heavier workloads or gaming. Overall, I think this is a decent computer if you only need something simple and really like the clean all-in-one design. It looks nice, the display is good, and it handles everyday tasks fine.
