  • HP OmniBook Laptop
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
I love this HP laptop! It looks very sleek, and the screen is an amazing size. One important consideration is that this laptop runs very quietly while in use. A great value for the price, and I would recommend it to anyone that might be looking for a reasonably priced laptop!

  • Decent laptop for general use. A good upgrade for anyone with 3+ year old laptop.
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
I have been a software engineer for my career. I normally have at least one laptop and a few PCs at home. I decided to see if this PC could replace my aging one. The specs were not stellar, and I was not expecting to replace my developer machine. It worked out OK as an admin/casual laptop. Operating System Windows 11 Home 64-bit CPU Intel Processor RAM 8.00GB Motherboard HP 8F66 (U3E1) Graphics Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz) Intel Graphics (HP) Storage 476GB PSENN512GA87QC0 (Unknown (SSD)) Optical Drives None Audio Realtek High Definition Audio With the operating system running there was about 1.5GB free. I have seen windows take over RAM when it’s available, so it is unclear how much they system has available. The specs seem on par with laptops in this price range. I will probably be adding another 8GB in a bit. Speaking of specs, there is very little written up about this model as of July 2026. I tried locating HP’s manual and specs and struck out. I wanted to see the specs and confirm what parts could be upgraded. I did work out some my checking the hardware. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The battery lasting 10 hours, seems a bit of a stretch. I discharged the battery to about 40%, then fully charged and used the laptop continuously for about 4 hours (edit files, transferring file, surfing the internet). The battery was drained down to 46%. So, in real world, I would expect 6-7hrs from the battery. Not bad, but do not expect the 16.25 hrs they have claimed, unless you take lots of breaks and are writing a document in night more. In the photos, they mention an HP GaN 65 wall adapter. Mine only came with a standard 65W wall plug, same as I have been used to for over a decade. The USB-C plug connects positively with no worry about it slipping out. The touchpad is actually fairly useful. I have always disabled them on my other laptops as I found myself touching them as I type and causing problems. I will probably still use a mouse, but nice that it does not seem overly sensitive. The keypad is comfortable to use. The keyboard lights up and was on be default. It was irritating, until I looked up how to shut it off (a common feature for some of the HP lineup). The light will help in a darker environment since the lettering on the keys appear to change from black to a gentle glowing white. However, with it on during the day, the keyboard is basically unreadable. (Hint: F10 toggles the backlight. It also sets it from Hight to Low, and adjust how long it remains on after last keypress). For those looking to fit it into an existing backpack, it measures 15.5”x10” (compared to my 15” laptop which is 14”x9.5”). The laptop is thin and lightweight. As to performance, I do not tend to stress my laptops out. I use them mainly for ‘office work’. This is suitable for that (Again, I believe any laptop should have 16GB these days. Memory is expensive right now, and this is one place they can cut to keep it within a targeted price point.) The screen was readable from multiple angles and from several feet away, so if you need privacy screen. Overall, at $700 this is a decent laptop for office applications, it is NOT setup for highly graphical work. I did not try using the AI features to see how well they worked. For my intended purposes as a secondary PC for administrative work, it is fine. ... show more

  • Solid Laptop
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
I've been using this HP OmniBook 3 for a few weeks now, and my overall impression is positive with a few important caveats. Right out of the box, it's a genuinely attractive machine — the Glacier Silver finish looks sleek and modern, the build feels solid, and the keyboard is comfortable with a nice backlight feature (F10 toggles it if you find it distracting during the day, which I did at first). The 17.3-inch display is the standout feature for me: it's crisp, bright, readable from multiple angles, and gives me plenty of room for documents, spreadsheets, or multiple browser tabs without needing a second monitor. Despite the larger screen, it's still reasonably lightweight at around 4.43 pounds, and it runs quietly, which I appreciate for everyday use. The 512GB SSD offers generous storage, Windows 11 runs smoothly for basic tasks, and setup was straightforward, aside from Microsoft's account login process getting more tedious with every new PC I set up, which isn't really HP's fault. Where this laptop shows its limits is memory. The base configuration ships with just 8GB of RAM, which is fine for web browsing, email, document editing, and general office work, but starts to show its age with anything more demanding — heavy multitasking, gaming, video editing, or running local AI models. I upgraded my RAM myself, and while removing the bottom cover took a little patience, the memory slots were easy to access once inside, and the difference afterward was noticeable, especially for running larger AI models. If you're comfortable with a quick DIY upgrade, it's a worthwhile investment; if not, budget for it as an added cost on top of the sticker price. I'd also flag that battery life claims are optimistic — HP advertises around 16 hours, but in real-world continuous use (editing files, browsing, transferring data), I saw closer to 6–7 hours, which is still solid but well short of the marketing number. Overall, if you go in with realistic expectations — a comfortable, attractive, well-built laptop for school, general office work, web browsing, and streaming rather than gaming or heavy multitasking — this is a solid everyday machine, and even more so if you're upgrading from something several years old. Just don't expect the advertised 16GB of RAM or the full 16+ hours of battery life, and factor in the cost of a RAM upgrade if you think you'll need it, since the discrepancy between the listing and the actual specs is a real issue that affects the overall value at this price. ... show more

  • Great Value but Budget for a RAM Upgrade
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this HP OmniBook. Out of the box it’s a sleek, lightweight laptop with a clean design, a comfortable keyboard, and a generous display that gives you plenty of room to work. The screen is bright and looks good, although if you’re coming from a MacBook, don’t expect the same level of resolution or display quality. It’s perfectly nice for everyday use, just not quite in the same league. The biggest limitation of the base configuration is the amount of RAM. For normal web browsing, office work, and media consumption it’s fine, but I wanted to run local AI models and quickly found myself wanting more memory. The good news is that the RAM upgrade was straightforward. Removing the bottom cover took a little patience, but once inside the memory slots were easy to access. After upgrading, the laptop handled noticeably larger AI models much more comfortably. Small models were usable before, but the extra RAM definitely expands what the system can do. Like most laptops from the major manufacturers, there’s a fair amount of preinstalled software that I immediately removed. Once the bloatware is cleaned up, Windows feels much snappier. Overall, this is a well-built laptop that offers a lot for the money. If you’re comfortable spending a few minutes upgrading the RAM, you’ll end up with a much more capable machine. ... show more

  • Good Everyday Laptop
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
This HP OmniBook 3 is a good laptop for everyday use. The 17.3-inch screen is nice and spacious, and the display is great for browsing the internet, checking email, streaming videos, working on documents, and other basic tasks. The 512GB SSD gives you plenty of storage for everyday files and programs, and Windows 11 runs smoothly for normal use. It's also nice having a larger screen without needing to connect an external monitor. I'm giving it 4 stars because while it's a good computer for daily tasks, I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty things like gaming or video editing. The Intel integrated graphics are fine for basic use but aren't designed for more demanding games or intensive editing programs. Overall, this is a solid choice if you're looking for a reliable laptop for school, work, browsing, streaming, and everyday computing. Just keep in mind that it's better suited for everyday tasks than demanding gaming or creative work. 💻✨ ... show more

  • Great Everyday Laptop, But 8GB RAM Limits the Value
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
This is a pretty decent laptop for word processing, data management, web browsing, and other everyday tasks. I mainly use it for basic work-related tasks, and so far I have experienced zero speed issues with that type of use. That said, I was disappointed to realize this model only has 8GB of RAM. Because of that, I would not consider this a high-performance machine. If you are looking for a laptop for gaming, heavy multitasking, video editing, or running multiple demanding software programs at once, this probably is not the best choice. What I do really like is the large screen. The 17.3-inch display gives you plenty of room to work, especially if you are dealing with documents, spreadsheets, or multiple browser tabs. Even with the larger screen, the laptop is still reasonably lightweight at about 4.43 pounds, which is nice for a laptop this size. For the price, I think this laptop is a decent everyday computer, but not necessarily the best value if you are paying around $700. It works well for word processing, web browsing, data management, spreadsheets, and other basic productivity tasks, and I have not had any speed issues using it for those purposes. Overall, I think this is a solid everyday laptop as long as you understand its limitations. It is great for basic productivity and general use, but the 8GB of RAM keeps it from being a true performance machine. ... show more

  • LACK OF STATED RAM, INCORRECT LISTING DETAILS!
Color: Glacier silver cover and keyboard frame,... Style: Device Only
I'll start by saying that I don't hand out many 1-star reviews, but in this case I believe it's completely justified based on the value being offered... Anyone shopping for a new laptop right now knows that RAM is expensive... It's one of the biggest factors affecting the price of a computer, and it's something buyers are paying very close attention to... The biggest issue with this listing is that it contradicts itself... At the time I ordered and reviewed this laptop, the main title prominently advertised 8GB RAM, but elsewhere the listing clearly stated 16GB DDR5-5600 MT/s (1 x 16 GB) under the Special Features section, making it very easy for buyers to believe this system actually came with 16GB installed... The laptop only includes 8GB of RAM... Having conflicting information throughout the listing creates unnecessary buyer confusion, and at this price point that's a significant problem... Anyone expecting 16GB is likely going to be disappointed, and upgrading later isn't cheap... Once you factor in the cost of additional memory, the "budget-friendly" value quickly disappears from this laptop and it becomes a "costly investment" for an entry level laptop... So, if you're considering this laptop, be aware that it ships with only 8GB of RAM despite areas of the listing suggesting otherwise... If your plan is to upgrade it to the 16GB configuration described in the listing, expect to spend considerably more money than you may have anticipated... Putting the RAM issue aside, the laptop itself is fairly decent... The larger display is nice if you prefer a bigger screen, although the touchpad also feels noticeably larger than what many people are accustomed to on smaller laptops... The keyboard uses a standard laptop layout, though anyone who primarily types on a full-size external keyboard may need a little time to adjust... I personally like having the numeric keypad included, but that's largely a matter of personal preference... Sadly the 8GB of RAM simply isn't enough for many modern task, enough for basic web browsing and email, but not enough for even a common kids game like MineCraft to run smoothly... Overall, this could have easily been a much higher-rated review if the listing accurately described the hardware and if the price had been more competitive with HP's own pricing for the same configuration on their website... As it stands, the inaccurate product description and the mismatch between expectations and reality significantly hurt the overall value, and that's why I can't recommend it... ... show more

We got this for our teenage daughter and it's great. We didn't have any issues setting it up. The speed is good for our needs. It is on the pricier side for the specs but the performance is good. The screen size is wonderful, it is much bigger and sleeker than her previous laptop. It's light weight but not light. It is modern and uses newer and current technology.
