This was significantly cheaper at HP site so I didn't buy it here where I usually shop for pretty much everyting. But best laptop I ever own and still working well after 3 years. I used to be a Dell guy but I bought their latest laptop for about 3k and it stopped working only after a year! I would not even be upset if this happened after 3 - 5 years since that's usually the time to replace computer since it wud be outdated already but one year is unacceptable. I called Dell Support and they were able to remote into computer and say fix is easy but first they have to charge me $25 for box to be sent over. I was like I rather send with my own box and they would not let me, what a rip off. Honestly, if you want to reduce headaches, Apple is way to go and no surprise they are most popular computer since you can just hop into an Apple store and your problems solved. Unfortunately, I'm an old PC guy and just enjoy using PC laptops. Long story short, I was gonna pay the $25 since 3k for a broken laptop is expensive but decided not to since it has an unfixable problem of monitor constantly adjusting brightness automatically. I know usually there is OS setting to turn it off but this was told built in Bios so no thanks. I also tried Windows tablets because those look light and convenient but the foldable cardboard keyboard sucks and those tablets stopped working after a few months. Totally unreliable. I only get HPs now and this as you wud expect, is blazing fast with i7 processor and 16 RAM memory. Unfortunately, another 3 years and this wud be a dinosaur and probably needs replacing. I like some aspects of the computer a lot. Among other things, it has that ancient relic -- dedicated Home, Pg Up, Pg Dn and End keys. Screen is beautiful. Backlit keyboard types well. Drawbacks are (1) the power USB-C is on the right side --- right where my mouse pad is; (2) the ONLY USB-C ports are also on the right side (there is a single regular USB on the left side, along with a card reader that I will never use). But the worst is that the BLUETOOTH DOESN'T CONNECT AT ALL! I went on the HP Community and someone suggested I download a new BIOS update and uninstall and then install new Bluetooth drivers. I was trying to connect to my tuner-amp and had it alongside my wife's Dell --- the same distance away --- and it would not connect, while hers connected without hesitation. Thinking perhaps the signal was just too weak, I moved close to the tuner-amp (see photo) and no luck then either. I hope HP sees this and steps up to the plate with a solution. Otherwise, I am returning it and getting my money back. Very disappointed! UPDATE: I took it home and it connected to blutooth fine. I am puzzled why it wouldn't do it Up North. But I guess I am stuck ... show more
