I bought this PC because Microsoft made Windows 10 obsolete. I was very happy with my older PC and with Windows 10. I don't find Windows 11 better than Windows 10. But this new PC is good: fast and, so far, reliable. Using OneDrive made moving from one PC to another, easier than before, but transferring my emails in Outlook from one PC to another was tedious as I had to use the Outlook file export/import facility and it did not work for the entire archive.pst, so I had to split it and do it folder by folder within the Inbox. Except for this, the PC does the job, including accepting new peripherals in a user friendly way. Fast PC, lots of SSD storage. Good value for the money, I think, especially when bought during Amazon Days!! ... show more

I've had this for a couple months now, so far it is working well. Bloatware was immediately removed. There was a learning curve changing from Windows 10 to Windows 11, but that's a review for Microsoft rather than and HP product. HP has been very helpful in directing me to the drivers for peripherals that I use and did not want to give up (I have a laser printer I've been using since 2007 that I love and still works GREAT!). I was thrill to avoid the dreaded obsolete software messages. Speed is fantastic, generous number of USB connections, storage more than meets my needs, and it even includes a VGA option in addition to the standard HMDI for my monitors. Hopefully long term reliability will also be great. ... show more

The mouse has a weird shape and is uncomfortable. The power button is poorly designed; it's a thin vertical slit. It doesn't have a disc drive. Other than that, it works fine. The size and weight are pluses; it's mid-sized and fairly light.

DOES NOT COME WITH HP'S USUAL BLOATWARE. Its nice and fast and very easy to set up. It's a good system, BUT I DON'T GAME, bear that in mind. FYI, this is NOT a gamers system! I like this Intel i7-14700 processor - I am quite pleased with it. It more than exceeds what I need it to do - light office work, email, etc. runs some simple software I use it for - I use it to primarily run my large Logos Bible Software and - it exceeds my needs by far. Methinks I got my $$-worth and then some! I just plugged my two external HD's into it and off I went! Good system! ... show more

    • It's getting hard to find traditional desk top computers (not specifically for gaming)

The good: The core i7-14700 CPU is very fast. Not too much bloatware. Nice M.2 PCIe NVME SDD and 32 GB of RAM. Several SATA ports for other drives. Fairly quiet. The bad: Proprietary power supply (not easy to replace if it fails). Few places to physically attach SATA drives. Few power ports to supply them with power. Only a single x1 PCIe slot (in addition to the slot for a graphics card that the power supply is not strong enough to handle). Plastic case feels cheap. On/off button is narrow and recessed so much that it is hard to press. Just one type C USB. Uses DDR4 so likely not enough memory bandwidth to get everything out of the 28 virtual (20 physical) cores on the CPU. But it is not so easy to find a better desktop PC without spending a lot more. ... show more

Ordered two PCs one for my wife and I. Purchased HP computers because we replaced two HP PCs that were over 10 years old and still working fine, but could not be upgraded to Windows 11 or receive updates after October. The new HP PCs were shipped just fine with no damage to the shipping boxes. They were easy to setup and get working and so far are working just fine. With the solid state digital hard drive the PCs startup almost instantly and seem to be very quick in loading programs and saving files, etc. Have no opinion on gaming capabilities since we are not typical gamers. ... show more
