  • Do not buy this computer
Do not buy anything renewed by the ReGadget company. I got the so called renewed computer and it was a piece of junk. They say it was professionally inspected and tested. That's a good one. The fan was covered with dust so it had never been opened. One of the USB ports was bent. They say it has HDMI which it does not. There was no power cord. The front was loose. Went to a computer store with the computer and bought the proper HP power cord for $74.00, turned it on and nothing. The company ReGadget claimed doing all the refurbishing is total BS. Amazon was nice enough when I called them to refund my money. Thanks Amazon for the refund Larry ... show more

  • Great Computer at a fantastic price from Refurb Ninja!
I purchased this from Refurb Ninja. Since this computer was renewed, I searched the feedback on all the sellers. Refurb Ninja had a recent and longterm rating of over 95%. All the others were much lower. I paid a little more but the computer came well packaged, early, and was as described. I purchased a renewed hp ultra small form factor HP computer with 512gig of ram, a 512g solid state hard drive and a quad core, 3 gig processor. I also bought a cheap wireless keyboard ,mouse and a new monitor and plugged everything together after arrival. Everything fired right up and worked immediately. I am very pleased with my purchase and am very pleased with the value provided by Refurb Ninja. For less then the price of a cheap laptop computer I now have a very fast desktop computer that is not much larger. The computer is a foot in length and width and about three inches high. The end result is very high end at small price. I am a happy customer and am very pleased with Refurb Ninja! ... show more

  • Died just out of 90 day warranty - Refurb-Ninja won't stand behind their product
This review is mainly about the refurbisher, Refurb-Ninja, and will also offer some advice on purchasing refurbished electronics. I needed an additional desktop at home when the pandemic forced schools online in March. I decided to purchase this unit from Refurb-Ninja rather than the other resellers on Amazon based on their review. During the 90 days that this computer worked, I was very pleased with it. However, almost as soon as it was out of warranty, the problems started. The computer became very unstable and would crash randomly. I tried contacting Refurb-Ninja by phone and did not receive a return call. I then contacted them by email and provided them with a very detailed description of the problem and the steps I had taken to fix it (namely, a stopcode error and an inability to run Windows troubleshooter because it would crash while running the diagnostic) . Their response to me indicated that they did not read my email, since their advice was to run the Windows troubleshooter in safe mode (already did that). In response, I asked that they send me a new ssd drive with Windows 10 pre-loaded on it and I would return the defective drive. Their response was to tell me to reinstall a clean version of Windows 10. I did so, and this briefly solved the issue until the same problem with random crashing returned. Again, I would describe the problem in detail to Refurb-Ninja, and they would offer a different solution, which would again fail to solve the problem. We went back and forth like this several times. The computer ended up completely unstable/unuseable. I explained that I was spending more time fixing the computer than actually using it, and that it was apparent that it was defective. While I realize I purchased a refurbished unit, I did think I could expect more than 5 months use out of it. Refurb-Ninja basically stated that they had done all they could remotely and that I should take it to a local tech. I did take the computer to a local computer guy, who confirmed immediately that the problem was a defective ssd drive, which I had to replace. The ssd that was installed was a garbage Chinese drive (pictured above) which did not appear to be new ( the seal indicated the case was opened). I installed a Crucial 500 GB ssd drive ($60 bucks on Amazon) and now the pc works like a charm. Really disappointed with the service from Refurb-Ninja and that they wasted so much of my time when the problem was apparent. Look, I get that this is a refurbished machine, but the one thing you don't reuse is an ssd drive, especially when the prices are now so low. This should always be replaced. I would have gladly paid an additional $60 for a new drive to avoid all this needless aggravation. As for the computer itself, realize that the components that come with it will be really cheap and useless. I replaced the supplied mouse and keyboard with Logitech wireless, and the supplied usb wi-fi adapter which operated at 2.4G with a 5G wi-fi adapter. My advice is if you are purchasing a refurbed machine, always buy the extended warranty if available, as you will likely need it. Also, expect to make a few standard upgrades for the supplied accessories. ... show more

  • Far beyond the expectations
I like taking risks. Buying anything refurbished might be a bit risky. When I saw the specs of this PC, I thought to myself "hmm fair price for this type of specs, let's try. If I don't like it, I can always return". Well, I decided to keep it. The PC arrived in excellent, very well refurbished condition. It is as exactly as it is advertised. The box included: PC itself, a power cord, USB inserted WI-FI adapter, USB-inserted Bluetooth, HDMI2DisplayPort adapter, a wired keyboard, and a wired mouse. I hope this serves me for a long time. ... show more

  • Caution: They obviously do not test the machines after imaging the drive
I am a professional hardware and network technician. If a non professional had received this product, there is a good chance it would have been shipped back as dead on arrival. And rightly so. When I first fired it up, it did not see the SSD. I immediately opened it up, took a look, inspected, and through the SSD into a hard drive dock to look at what was on it, or if it was a dead drive. Drive turned out to be fine on my dock. Plugged it back into mounting bracket, put mounting bracket into machine. Machine sees no drive. Took a look at mounting bracket. Bracket does not have a secure connection to the SATA and power plug. Either the bracket or the SSD is a slightly different size than what the original bracket and board was designed for, they do not quite line up. So I plugged the SSD in with no bracket, and it fired up just fine. So, after jury rigging a mount, I am happy with the machine. Time will tell if any other problems surface. So despite now having a working product on hand, I cannot give anything other than a single star for a product that was shipped without ever being tested. It is obvious they did zero testing after imaging the hard drive. There is no feasible way this product's hard drive ever fired up on a test bench when fully assembled. ... show more
