    • Louder than expected, but works well
I wanted to replace my raspberry pi NAS solution I had running for two years. Nothing was wrong with it, but I have been slowly moving everything to the NAS and from there to cloud backup, and wanted more flexibility to run docker containers. It was hard to find a fanless system with lots of hard drive bays. This doesn't quite fit the bill, but it does have three bays, and with some velcro tape, two laptop HDD will fit into one bay. It is an older system, but is more than capable of streaming movies from an Emby server while doing a cloud backup and running a bunch of docker containers. I don't remember exactly what the problem was, but I added a small SDD as a boot drive, but I couldn't get it to recognize the USB stick I was using to install the OS. Mostly, it had to do with needing to coordinate BIOS/UEFI settings and the wording was a bit weird. Once I had the OS, I've not had any problems at all. It has Linux installed, and for giggles I installed Steam. I wouldn't call this a gaming machine by any means, but for the games I play, it worked perfectly fine without interrupting its primary use as a NAS. The main problem is there is a slight rattle from a fan. I will probably end up replacing the fan. It isn't loud (like the HP800 SFF I have as my main desktop). This is my third HP SFF computer, and all have had crappy fans that make it louder than it needs to be. But, for the price, it is a good value. ... show more

We ordered a PC to replace the main unit that we use, the older pc was just getting to slow and could not keep up with the new changes. Once it was delivered we unpacked it and set it up. The keyboard, mouse and wifi dongle might as well dump them. they are pretty cheaply made. We updated software and works great no problems. ... show more

    • A dud that they make it hard to return/replace if…
The has been the worst computer purchase of my life. I bought it for my elderly father, who only uses it to access email and his bank account (so the PC is barely used). When I bought it, it booted up VERY slowly. However slowly you are thinking I mean, it was even slower than that. Then over time its processing speed got slower and slower. It is now at a point where I click something and five minutes later the PC responds. I have tried various troubleshooting things, but they require a better functioning machine than this one is. I am within the 90 day return window, but it appears that no matter which method I choose (refund or replacement), *I* have to pay the shipping to return this piece of junk. And even if I were willing to do that, the PC has my dad’s passwords set up to auto-fill and I can’t change that because I can’t get the computer to work (but someone who could would have access to my dad’s accounts). UPDATE: I took the PC to a local shop and they said it is a a bad hard drive and the PC isn’t worth fixing. So when I add the - Bad return policy - Bad hard drive - The fact that the PC case **didn’t have all of its screws** …I come to the conclusion that the reviews giving this company a high Amazon rating (which is what convinced me to buy from them) are VERY suspect. ... show more

    • Not very optimistic from the start - About to start return process
My initial impressions (will update as time goes on) Keyboard is cracked, keys are broken and the missing pieces aren't even in the box. This computer sounds.... strange. I've heard of this happening and then they settle down after setup, so I'm powering through it. Fingers crossed. The included wi-fi adapter (not happy that it didn't come with wi-fi already installed, but ok) says its 150mb/s. We have excellent wi-fi and connection speeds with every other computer, but this thing is CRAWLING. ----DAY 2 UPDATE ----- Have to run troubleshooter every TWO MINUTES because the default gateway cannot be found. Drivers are up to date, but it just doesn't work for long. Will have to wait and see after I get everything transferred and actually use software before I'll be able to fully review, but so far...... I'm definitely saving the packaging in preparation to return. Biggest issue.... Even though I am the ONLY user, and am administrator... I'm locked out of many settings. I can't even adjust the time zone on this thing to get the right time. There's no way I'll ever be able to fix everything that is wrong with this thing. ... show more

    • It's okay
This has to be the loudest computer I have ever owned - annoyingly so but I'm hoping to get used to it. The noise also makes me apprehensive - it's like I'm waiting for it to crash, which will probably happen after the 90 days are up. Also, I think I read it somewhere (although I can't find it now) - this computer cannot be upgraded to Windows 11, the CPU isn't compatible. Some old programs (such as Quicken 2017 - which is all I need and has worked on every other system I have) will not work on this system no mater what I tried, so had to upgrade that as well. As I just got it a few days ago, I'll give it another month or so before making the final "keep it or give it up" decision. But beware: IT'S LOUD - even as I'm typing, the sound is coming from the computer itself, not from the keyboard. Sounds like mini-machine guns! We shall see...... ... show more
