Truly free of Wifi requirements. Use hp123 for setup and installation without WiFi and are not interested in auto delivery for ink. Prints and copies nicely with no discernible difference between the original and the copy. Seller included universal cable cord for wired connection. Another feature I like is that the control panel is at the front for maximum visibility instead of the side. All other printers I tried this year were defective regardless of brand, model, and seller and required WiFi for setup and installation. I am happy to have found the HP 4140 and an excellent value at $65 with a 90-day warranty. ... show more

    • Great printer for the money!
I love this printer! It's hard to believe it was refurbished. It arrived tightly packed. It looks like it is brand new. The print quality is excellent and it is quiet. It also prints out great photos. Through trial and error I discovered that the Fit to Page setting works best.

    • Very Difficult to Install
My primary reason for buying this was the USB connection (there are plenty of better wifi printers, and they come with real ink cartridges). Installation was difficult -- and I'm an old repair tech. The printer comes only with two "setup cartridges", which got me most of the way through the internet-based software install (note: I had to go to support.hp.com to get software that worked). However, those "setup cartridges" did not support printing a test page, so the install hung. FORTUNATELY, I had Prime'd a pair of 67-series cartridges, was able to swap them in, was able to delete the first software install, and then re-load the software -- that completed the install. I sucessfully printed from my computer. BUT, to scan a document to file the software demands that you use an online HP account !!! You can't scan at all offline (except as a copier). Printer works great. Very easy to use and paper comes out perfect for whatever you need to Print. I had bought another brand just a few months later at almost the same price of HP Printer and HP was the best hands down. Very pleased with my purchase
