Just like the reviews of this laptop- the hinge cover was missing! As this is for a 13 year old, I am not sure that I want to keep it. With the missing piece, it makes me wonder how long this will last. I gave it two stars because it powers on quickly.

It works like a charm. However, the hinge cover thingy was missing leaving the hinges and the display wires vulnerable. It also came with some slightly visible surface damages near the edges. Overall from the performance side, it's great. From the visuals side, it's meeeeh....fine. Edit: -1 star because I found that it couldn't handle basic chrome tabs load, it would start to freeze or act slow. ... show more

    • Very nice beasty!
First, it accidentally got shipped with a TN rather than a Touch Screen so contacted the seller and resolved the issue via price reduction. The main reason I prefered to keep it is it does have the Intel 4020 processor which is a very good performer plus the sound volume and quality is much better than even the Bo equipped H.P.'s and it is one handsome and heavy built beast yet very refined, everything works well. TN screen issues can be reduced by using it on a desk, get a video /image extension that allows you to adjust all aspects of what you see on the screen from sharpmess, gamma, contrast, brightness and on which can really bring a TN screen to life with better definition and depth of color. Another thing is to use the LACROS version of Chrome which is a simple four steps and helps improve image quality and performance even more. The G8 ee is pricey and if you can get it with a Touch screen it is worth it but without it is a challenge if you like that kind of thing.....I live for this stuff! ... show more

Got this for my daughter when she was in high school. She used it daily and it performs great. Now that she is in college, she bought a faster gaming laptop, but still uses this Chromebook a lot. Still works great!
