Before buying these, I had built a 4-player cabinet on the cheap, and used those two-piece concave buttons you find everywhere. Even after cementing their switch to the button harness on my old buttons, I had been disappointed with inconsistency and timing during game play. These new ones are hair-trigger, compact, and rounded. The two small ones are really my favorite, but they're all much, much easier to play games with than the old buttons. Also, I didn't expect the LED to look as cool as it does in my system, which doesn't show up in the photo quite as red as it does irl. The spade connectors are the miniature ones, so be prepared for that when wiring. ... show more

I ordered red arcade led push buttons from another company (not Arcity) and they work fine with my Ultimarc Pac Drive board. I wanted to use blue push buttons for my player 2 side, but for some reason, these buttons just will not work with my Pac Drive board. If I connect 5V to the push button, they light up fine, so I know the buttons are good. However after trying several of the buttons, none of them work via the LED driver board. So if you need buttons that are directly connected to a 5V source then these look to be fine. I ended up ordering another set of the red buttons, and those work fine. Not sure why these blue ones won't work with my Pac Drive board, so I ended up having to send them back. ... show more

    • Only good for secondary functions.
Very cheap buttons with no "click" feel to them. The LED function works, but the plunger connects to the top with a long vertical piece of plastic. When lit, this creates a shadow in the middle that doesn't look good. These have four connectors on the back-side; two for the switch, and two for the LED. This is exactly what I need for my project. On the positive side, they work perfectly for my needs. I hid the shadow by printing 3/4" circular labels and affixing them inside on the white plunger. They look much better when lit this way. They also work great as extra-function buttons. I used these with my zero-delay USB board. It has two-pin connectors for Turbo, Auto-Fire, Clear, and Mode options. There's also a 5v two-pin connector. This allows me to use the extra features and light them up at the same time via the 5v connector. Also note that two of the buttons are 28mm, while the others are 30mm. ... show more

Pros: Cheap, easy to install Cons: no tactile click-y feel (but this is pure opinion) No directions on pins The bigger pins are the LED leads for +5v and GND. The two smaller pins are for the actual switch mechanism.

This is a good looking, inexpensive button. The only problem is it's too sensitive. There's almost no dead zone. You don't need to press the button to activate it. If you keep your finger on the button you will activate the switch. That's fine on my Atari 2600 paddle laptop builds. None of the games require an agile fire button. But this would never work for pushbutton games like Asteroids or Gravitar. In fact, any game where you want to keep your finger on the button during play won't work properly. ... show more

Two problems here. The first is that this kit really only includes 6 normal buttons and two of the small diameter white ones. Second issue is that you can see a line on the inside of the button face when illuminated. This takes away from the visual of these buttons.
