Before buying these, I had built a 4-player cabinet on the cheap, and used those two-piece concave buttons you find everywhere. Even after cementing their switch to the button harness on my old buttons, I had been disappointed with inconsistency and timing during game play. These new ones are hair-trigger, compact, and rounded. The two small ones are really my favorite, but they're all much, much easier to play games with than the old buttons. Also, I didn't expect the LED to look as cool as it does in my system, which doesn't show up in the photo quite as red as it does irl. The spade connectors are the miniature ones, so be prepared for that when wiring. ... show more

    • Only good for secondary functions.
Very cheap buttons with no "click" feel to them. The LED function works, but the plunger connects to the top with a long vertical piece of plastic. When lit, this creates a shadow in the middle that doesn't look good. These have four connectors on the back-side; two for the switch, and two for the LED. This is exactly what I need for my project. On the positive side, they work perfectly for my needs. I hid the shadow by printing 3/4" circular labels and affixing them inside on the white plunger. They look much better when lit this way. They also work great as extra-function buttons. I used these with my zero-delay USB board. It has two-pin connectors for Turbo, Auto-Fire, Clear, and Mode options. There's also a 5v two-pin connector. This allows me to use the extra features and light them up at the same time via the 5v connector. Also note that two of the buttons are 28mm, while the others are 30mm. ... show more

Two problems here. The first is that this kit really only includes 6 normal buttons and two of the small diameter white ones. Second issue is that you can see a line on the inside of the button face when illuminated. This takes away from the visual of these buttons.
