I was fortunate that my adult son was willing to set up my new laptop for me. He transferred files, passwords bookmarks, etc. from my previous HP to this new one. That being said, I was immediately able to begin using the new HP. I don't use this for gaming, or streaming video. I primarily read email, conduct research and occasionally create documents. The computer is fast and I have never had an issue with it. The 17 inch screen is so worth it. Even with the larger size, the weight is very reasonable. Nice display. Don't mess around and get this laptop with the 32 GB of memory. You will be sorry if you get less. The only reason that I did not give this 5 stars is that the number lock key does not have a light like most laptops do. However, I would still buy the computer, but HP can do better than not including a light up number lock key. ... show more

    • May have an almost run out warranty.....
Be aware that you're buying a PC that may have little to no warranty left....2 months and 29 days for the one I got out of a 1 year factory warranty. HP starts the clock on first sale to the vendor. The additional warranty offered at checkout may or may not be a good deal. The laptop may be fine but have had issues over the years with keyboards that don't last. Your call.... Update - 8/1/25 Vendor was asked three questions on 7/29/25 thru Amazon Customer Service. Only one was addressed in their reply. 1. Who provides the 1 year warranty and was told it is a seller's warranty. Without proof, in writing, just who the warrantor is, that claim is useless. 2. Vendor did not respond to WoW USB, Windows recovery USB, to explain which version of windows was recovered. Not that I needed that recovery option since I will image the NVMe and provide my own recovery but would be nice to know. 3. Ad also stated a 250Gb portable SSD drive was included but it was not. Vendor chose to ignore that question as well. I would avoid business with this vendor. ... show more

The laptop works fine. the description states it has a fingerprint reader which it does not. The photo shows a portable hard rive like it comes with it. It does not. Maybe sending it back.

I received this from my wife as a Christmas present and Birthday present since I was born the day after Christmas. I have used this everyday since. All day almost every day while researching for and writing my thesis. It has worked flawlessly. I LOVE THE KEYBOARD! But use a wireless mouse, my right thumb was damage in an accident and I cannot keep it away from the onboard mouse pad so I disable it with a cover. Other then that I have put it through a fairly rigorous test since the holidays and believe it to be a sound machine. I love the performance, speed and the clarity of the 17" monitor.
