I would not buy from this company ever again! They increase the ram to 32 from 16. That sounds great but what they fail to mention is that this voids the HP factory warranty. I know because my sound completely stopped working and I called HP for a solution, and they told me that AlpacaTech had increased the ram (they were not authorized by HP to do so) so the factory warranty was voided. I contacted AlpacaTech and they said no problem; we will gladly sell you one of our warranty's. I use my laptop to work from home, and I need sound and video. AlpacaTech won't replace the laptop for me because I no longer have the original package (who would after three weeks), so I am stuck with a $500 laptop that I cannot use, and I cannot return for a replacement or refund! Bad and deceitful business practice. They should reveal that they purposely void the factory warranty. Amazon refuses to help with this as well because it was bought through a third-party seller. I am so disappointed. I am going to have to spend another $500 or more. I should have just bought a mac like I wanted too. I will end up paying about the same price. ... show more

Wonderful computer. It was bought for a 94-year-old senior who wanted to play Mahjong. Her original 20-year-old laptop with Vista operating service finally died. It could no longer access the internet. Probably a good thing. The only hangup at first was having to enter a pin in order to log in. We fixed that situation and she no longer needs to enter a pin, just hit enter. That has more to do with Microsoft Window 11. The computer has good graphics, is slim. Over all has just a good look. The apps work fine on it. There is more power than she needs, but who knows who will inherit it. ... show more

Attention. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS SELLER. I bought a DEFECTIVE laptop, WITHOUT FACTORY WARRANTY, and when I returned it to the seller, they charged me a $153.00 restocking fee. I bought an HP laptop, it came in a plain cardboard box, NOT THE ORIGINAL HP BOX. After installing and using it for 10 days, I noticed the microphone wasn't working. I contacted HP support. Upon inspecting the computer, they told me that the computer had its memory and hard drive altered using non-HP parts and therefore the WARRANTY WAS CANCELED. Since the computer didn't work and had no warranty, I decided to return it. I received a partial refund; they charged me $153 restocking fee claiming the computer had been used and packaged in a plain box and that they would sell the computer at a discount because of this. This is unacceptable!!!! They said they would have to sell the computer at a discount? THE COMPUTER IS DEFECTIVE AND HAS NO HP WARRANTY, how is it possible they still want to resell the computer? I tried to resolve this with Amazon, 6 times the seller's response was always negative. In the end, Amazon gave me a gift card for the amount of the restocking fee. I thank Amazon very much for that.
