  • Fast Charging, reliable
Color: Natural Silver
It's a good laptop. Charges nicely with a good battery life, and turns & off easily. I didn't notice it doesn't have touch screen, which I was accustomed to, so I kinda miss that feature. I would have given it 4.5 starts because of that. It does have the numbers pad on the right so that's a plus for easier mathematical calculations or formulas. Overall, it seems to work well and was reasonable priced! ... show more

  • Exceptional Value! Exceptional Value!
I purchased this on Prime Day 2019 when it was discounted $150 from full price. At the time I was debating between an MSI and an ASUS gaming laptop as I didn’t have the budget for an Alienware. At that point I was unfamiliar with the HP Omen and the only other gaming laptop to consider was a Lenovo which I will never make the mistake of purchasing again. I needed a good laptop for college and one that I could play independent games on. This works well for both. The price of the HP Omen at the time was $829.99 and looking back in hindsight, I definitely would’ve paid more. The red backlit keyboard provides an exquisite visual in light or in dark. The mouse pad operates smoothly and precisely, and the keyboard has a nice well gripped feel yet is delicate to the touch. This in my opinion is the best bang for your buck. ASUS makes great and affordable laptops as well, but with the price of the HP Omen being as much as $100 less on average, you won’t be disappointed saving the extra money for the same amount of gaming laptop goodness. PROS • Great for college & gaming • Nice overall appearance • Lightweight (for a gaming laptop) & durable • Reliable • Great value CONS • Heavier than your typical college notebook Delivery of this product was better than you would expect. The box had plenty of air in it and the inner laptop box was surrounded by large air bubbles to keep it safe and secure. The outer box was also in great shape and looked as if it was handled gently throughout delivery. I had to contact HP for some questions during setup and they were more than happy to help. Hold time on the phone was less than five minutes. This entire purchase was a very positive experience. If you’re looking for a great laptop that you can use for anything, look no more. I highly recommend this HP Omen laptop and HP products in general. My business laptop and my desktop at home are both HP as well and I’ve been very satisfied with all. ... show more

  • Good hardware for the money but don't upgrade or fix yourself
Pros: good hardware, SSD running the OS is very fast. Runs games better and smoother than my Xbox one. Light and durable case. Cons: writing this about a month in. This is a laptop for setting on a desk and plugged in at all times. Too hot to game in your lap and the power supply could boil an egg. The power receptacle into the laptop feels fragile and could wiggle and start to break if you aren't careful, and probably is not an easy fix if you can't charge your battery anymore. Windows 10 is full of bloatware and self advertising for Microsoft and takes some settings surfing to disable apps and widgets that you cannot uninstall. After 2 weeks I sat the laptop down to use the bathroom and when I came back there was a huge crack in the LCD screen. No big deal I thought I watched a video to replace it myself and ordered "omen replacement LCD 15.6" for 60 dollars. When I pulled the case and battery I started to realise why this is so cheap. I DO NOT recommend replacing or doing any work on them yourself, I bet when you send yours in for repair they just throw it in the garbage and send you a new one. The Screen was unnecessarily high bond taped to the case and crumpled as I peeled it off. Once I got rid of the tape and the now ball of screen I saw that what I bought isn't the same screen at all and doesn't even fit inside the case. After some hard googling I finally found the screen I need and it's $150 dollars. If you buy this I highly recommend getting the warranty and just send it in, probably a rule for laptops in general ... show more

  • The times they are a changing...
Color: Natural Silver
The laptop performs as it should, and it was a necessary evil that I had to buy a new one. The buyer should know that AI, Copilot, etc are a thorn in the side. I hate that Microsoft lets you use 365 for a few days letting you think it comes free with the laptop. Then, they zap it to you with a $99./yr charge after a 30 day free trial. Who doesn't need a good Word program? Used to be that you paid a one time fee for the software. Now, it is no more. The computer is fast and efficient, but I hate Copilot and have yet to be able to get it to go away. ... show more

  • A WORTHLESS PIECE OF JUNK
Color: Natural Silver
It won't even start correctly. It forced me to restart FIVE TIMES, and now it FREEZES while checking for updates - displays a half circle frozen not rotating. I've NEVER seen such a piece of junk computer. I'm returning it. From now on it's DELL always. Kroist what a PIA. Update: It finally got unfrozen and again for the 6th time I had to specify my country and choice of keyboard layout. Now it's frozen at 'Name your device' - the cursor will not move. I don't have time to deal with HP's stupidity and its garbage. I could say more but I'd get censored. Would I buy it again? Not in a million years, HP, way to go. ... show more

  • A great HP product.
Color: Natural Silver
I love HP products… had a Lenovo that was constantly glitching and slow. This laptop is virtually as fast as my desktop.

  • Great Buy, was what i expected it to be Great Buy, was what i expected it to be
Keep in mind that this is more of a rant, and I'm half asleep, but this is what I've gone through so far with the product. Originally came from an hp g62 2010 - 2018, was able to make the laptop last. Finally wanted to upgrade and saw this on sale, so I went for it and it was what I wanted in a laptop for what I do: Music, School, Youtube, Slaughtering Demons. The rant and rave of an individual: The screen is very nice, I can confirm it is an In-plane Switching Monitor or (IPS) as I do not have to center the screen or move my body to get a great view of it, unlike a lot of TN panels that I've used back in the day. The disassembly of the device is very very simple, remove the screws from the bottom of the case and the case pops off, might need a thin tool to pry the case off a bit (only con here) and you'll see the ram and the hard drive and the nvme along with the fans which make it easy for upgrades and cleaning. Also the battery is not soldered into the board and easily comes out for replacement after you remove some screws. All screws I noticed were Phillip's head. (I like to watch disassembly videos in case something happened, that way I can tear into it and hopefully fix the issue.) The ram is decent for 12 gigs, a 4 gig stick and an 8 gig stick, but I plan on upgrading the ram soon. Now after uninstalling a few things and setting windows to use less resources, I idle at about 18-19% which isn't bad at all, depends on what you do though. I do believe the manufacturer specifications have tested up to 16 gigs of 2666 on the board, however; there are cases with other omen laptops, where you can plop in 16 gigs in each dimm slot for a total of 32 gigs, wouldn't recommend it because it's not officially supported, but I will go ahead and try it (making sure i'm at the latest bios update from hp), and will provide an additional review/update. (I like to run a lot of things at once.) The processor is very nice, windows shows that i have 4 physical cpus and 8 logical processors, and I idle at 0% after turning the thing on (which mine booted into windows less than 3 seconds with the nvme 128 gig harddrive). I plan on upgrading the nvme from 128 gigs to 1 terabyte, might clone the drive or just grab a fresh install of windows 10 and slap it on a usb drive and fresh install, go from there. From what I read on the specification sheet for the dc0010nr, I think a cap of 512 Gigs nvme was officially tested and supported, but I'm going another 512 and see how the machine fairs. The 1 terabyte hard drive isn't slow at all, but I have nothing on it but a few games and some music, I constantly keep it defragged. The sound on the laptop is definitely an upgrade from my old hp g62 via software and hardware, but i use headphones into the 3.5mm jacks for mic and playback anyways. when it comes to gaming: Doom 2016 gives about 100 to 130fps on 1080p, ultra + open glide settings.... battlefield 1 on 1080p ultra gives about 45+ on mp and 60+ sp, drop it to high and it gives about 60+ but it depends on what map and what all is going on via gameplay. The heat on the laptop isn't bad, the machine will get warm and the fans will kick into high gear almost like a delay, but there is absolutely no throttling and when i'm finished with my gaming, the fans kick off to silent almost immediately. Also with the gpu, this is a verified gtx 1050 ti with 4096MB of vram in it. Final note: I think it's worth what I payed for: 799.99. If my desktop crashes and burns, it's a great replacement for it. It absolutely destroys solitaire and minesweeper along with other office products like excel spread-sheeting and you're in need for a couple of Pareto diagrams or 3 point beta distributions to resolve employee padding with P.M.O affairs making sure the stakeholders are happy. Alas I digress... I unboxed it, i pressed the power button and it immediately shot into windows and was ready to go. :) ... show more

  • Great price and product
Color: Natural Silver
Item arrived when it was supposed to arrive. I actually went to Best Buy originally and that was a big mistake. They tried to sell me a &1500 laptop which I don’t need for personal use. I’m partial to the HP brand. My daughter helped me to select what I needed and I was able to set it up and bring everything over from my old laptop with ease. Also, the price was great, $500 instead of $1500. ... show more
