  • Well written, informative, very helpful!
This is my second Cliff Ruggles book and I am very happy to have his expertise. Covers everything you need to know about the "Quadrajunk". Since I know the car can run well with the correct carb, it took some time to find not only the right year but the right parts to do a successful rebuild. Cliff helped all the way. I recommend the book and he was super nice and helpful on the phone too! Since he's no longer rebuilding these on order, his book is a must have. ... show more

  • A must have book for anyone that works on Quadrajet carburetors.
Cliff is a great guy that really is helpful with Quadrajet carburetors, He has an online forum where people provide solutions and help with carburetor problems. This book offers a complete description of the Quadrajet carburetor and how to modify it for high performance engines. Anyone who has ever tried to use one on a modified engine knows how hard this can be. Cliff's book makes it easier. It is written in a very understandable language that guides you through the entire process. It also explains the logic behind why you are making the changes. I have been tuning Quadrajet carburetors for many years, this book made me understand how they really work. For years I had Doug Roe's books on the shop workbench like a bible. Now we use Cliffs book as our go to book for information. Doug's books are great, but they assume you are a fluid dynamics engineer with a firm grasp on the design of the carburetor. Cliff's book shows you how to make one work, Doug's books tell you the it has been done with great success. If you work on a lot of quadrajet carbs, odds are you already own Doug's book. If you don't have Cliffs book you are missing a chapter of the story, the final one, by the way. ... show more

  • Perfect addition to any shop library
I picked this up to expand my quadrajet knowledge. Great pics. Lots of information.

  • Excellent help and information
Having run and enjoyed Q-jets for many years I bought this book immediately. Even if you have the Rochester book by Doug Roe, this is a needed addition. True hands on experience shows and Ruggles is able to convey some complex procedures with success. From a simple rebuild to advanced tuning you'll find plenty of help. Pictures are good and clear, but the captions are another story. Here's where I dropped one star in my review. You can figure out the intent with a little study but it seems the publisher rushed the set-up and printing. For instance, the 'left' carburetor is sometimes the 'right' one. Picky perhaps but it is sometimes confusing. All in all a good book. ... show more

  • Good Read for DIY Mechanics
The book arrived on time and was truly an exciting read for a DIY mechanic or hobbyist like myself. Read the entire book in about 1 1/2 wks, do to my work schedule. Enjoyed it a lot! I gave it a rating of four because of the Left Top picture on pg 119. You will notice, that the Float needle is in the wrong installation position and contrary to what the factory service manual advises. And they advise against clipping the needle tang in that particular location. Yes... I have a keen eye, because I am a Professional Automotive Detailer and own my own company, so I tend to pay attention to detail. After noticing that... I started to question some of the other so called technical info that he volunteered. Not to say it's wrong, but just wondering...then I remembered the cover of the book and title. "How to Rebuild and Modify the Rochester Quadrajet". Key word being " Modify". So in my opinion he is completely correct in his modification, although against the recommendations of the service manual. So now my rating has changed to five, because the float needle was probably intentionally installed in that position as a part of his modification. I chose to opted to the factory servic manual recommendation on this particular issue. Very good read, though. ... show more

  • Cliff Ruggles IS the king of Quadrajets!
This book is VERY comprehensive and probably has more info than you will ever need when it comes to Quadrajet rebuilds unless you are going to make a business out of it. I called and spoke to Cliff Ruggles and he is a real guy that knows what he is talking about and passionate at what he does. You can't get a better book when it comes to rebuilding Quadrajets or if you're a carb geek. ... show more
