Great great scooter for the money. It has front shocks and air tires which makes it very smooth on rough city roads and sidewalks. The battery lasts for a very long time on a full charge. The build quality is very sturdy and well built. Im a 240 plus pound person and it still runs very smooth and fast. Speeds up to 24 mph with me on it. Cant beat the price for this type electric scooter. Plus you can just simply remove the battery from the scooter with a key and charge it at home instread of taking the whole scooter with you. I've used this scooter for over a year now. The build quality is very suspect. The clip that holds the front bar broke off after only 2 weeks. The drum brake on the front wheel is awful and doesn't even work at this point. The rear wheel leaked air and went completely flat after only a month of use. The battery doesn't last near as long as estimated. For the price I paid ($700+) when this was new, I expected much higher build quality. I'm not sure what to say about this scooter other than I've either had horrible luck or the product just isn't worth your money - even on sale. I've used it for 3 rides total. The first ride was great and I was riding around enjoying myself quite a bit. I had mostly been not caring about battery levels but last I checked it was around 50-60% and a little while later the scooter just went dead but I chalked it up to just not noticing. After charging it up I kept a lot better track of the levels on the next ride and once it got close to 40% the same thing happened and the scooter shut down. Ok, must be a faulty battery so I plan to get it replaced through warranty. I figure in the meanwhile I can still use it at 60% capacity and took it out again and then in the middle of my ride the back tire goes completely flat. I checked it over as thoroughly as I could and there seems to be no puncture point at all and so I'm at a complete loss now. The other issue i seemed to experience is that the scooter drops to like half speed at ANY form of incline and really struggles to move. My assumption is this is a result of the battery having so many faulty cells but who knows. I've owned it for less than a week and this many issues seem like too many signs that I should just return it and get something else. I haven't really decided what I plan to do but figured I would relay my experience for anyone else thinking about buying the scooter. I will leave a final note and say if the scooter had just worked without issue it would have been an amazing value. As it is, I feel like I need to just spend more money and not gamble on deals - unfortunately, I assumed Hover-1 being an actual brand would be enough to guarantee a good product. ... show more

Hover 1, Helios Electric Foldable Scooter. My son got this scooter for Christmas and used it once to take it to his friend's house a mile away. He had to walk home because the rear tire was flat. We tried to pump it up but it continued to lose air. We contacted customer support, not once, but twice because we thought they misunderstood our complaint that the scooter was defective. They informed us that the tire was not part of the warranty. I could understand if we had misused it and run over some glass or a nail, but this was fresh out of the box! We bought an air pump just in case it was just the seal and that is when we found out it was actually the stem, not the tire itself. I've tried to call numerous times but they are not answering calls. Your only option is to email them. They don't even give you an opportunity to talk to a live person. How they can run a company like this and stay in business, .....I have no idea. Be smart, buy it from someone else. There are many other companies that would like your business. They told me to return it through Amazon, but with the early purchase for Christmas and delay in email response that return period ran out and you have to pay for the return of a 50lb scooter. :/ I am not one to complain so this is really uncomfortable for me, but honestly, this is NOT acceptable. This is the worst $350 purchase I have ever made. Do yourself a favor.........DO NOT BUY THIS SCOOTER! The clearly do not back their product! Signed, ..... a very unhappy customer!!! ... show more

    • Lost speed after first charge

Heavy,wide base platform.Decent scooter,but only maxed12 mph after 1st charge. On the flip side, the battery life is long,very long on flat to slight inclines. Use daily on 2 mile commutes only and charge once a month. If you are OK with going snails pace,it gets the job done.

I had it for 2 weeks. Before the back Fender broke Because I hit a bump. So I did the whole little protection plan thing. And Got the scooter back. Got 2 rides out of it and then it gave me an E1 error Which basically means the motor is dead. Please, Buy a scooter from somebody who knows what they're doing like Segway. ... show more
