I bought this hose repair connector kit expecting a simple and reliable fix for a damaged garden hose, but the repair did not hold as well as I needed. The adapters are useful in theory because they cover both 5/8 inch and 3/4 inch hoses, but the actual fit felt less secure than expected once the clamps were tightened. I had to keep adjusting the connection to reduce leaking, and even then the seal did not feel fully dependable when normal water pressure was running through the hose. The metal clamps are included, which is convenient, but they did not give the firm grip I expected for a long-term repair. For a quick temporary fix it may be acceptable, but I expected a cleaner installation, better compression around the hose, and a stronger leak-resistant connection. ... show more

    • Defective Cheap Clamps

Cheap defecttive metal clamps. Tried over half, and they are the same issues with leaks. Leaks with the metal clamps. The clamps don't full surround the unit. And looking at it, there is a ridge that is uneven. Had to buy other clamps to fix issue.

I was skeptical here. I thought this was a cheapo that would have half success rate. With the amount of washers given you, you should seal up a dam with these things. Impressive and simple.
