Great saw for the money. Some parts are a bit flimsy and some of the adjustment controls are a bit crude. The laser line stays spot on, the power of the saw is very adequate, the side support rails are useful. Setting the miter isn't as solid as the high priced saws, but for my moderate use, it functions well. Setting dado cuts has probably the crudest controls consisting of an adjustable stop using a set screw. All being said, for the money, this is a good 12 inch saw.

I bought this for one reason: the size. I have no room for a standard miter saw, and I have a good table saw. I do make a lot of projects with narrow boards and repetitive cuts and an 8" saw would be perfect. I was dubious of the quality and precision because of the obvious Chinese origins but the price was right. Now I can saw I was surprised and very impressed with the solid construction and I got square cuts right out of the box. However, there was one issue that bears mention: I wanted to change to a good plywood blade right away and I had a most difficult time getting the standard blade off. So much so I was preparing to return the saw until I looked again at other saws on Amazon and the manuals online and realized that the threads on the bolt that holds the blade on miter saws are reversed. You loosen the blade by turning the bolt clockwise. It still was on really tight and all you can use is a metric allen wrench, but once I got it loose everything else fell into place. Happy with my saw.
