Buying hunting gear online is hit or miss; it is mainly a guessing game, and it is imperative to glean through all reviews to weed out the good from the not-so-good. That said, so far I think I hit the target in the bullseye, with this jackett. You can spend an extraordinary amount of money on good hunting gear and get extraordinary equipment, but not many of us have unlimited budgets. I look for equipment that serves the purpose I need for the least amount of my hard-earned dollars, bonuses added if it exceeds my needs for the dollars spent. I was looking for a jacket that would keep me dry and warm in 0-degree F weather. It did not have to withstand torrential rainfall for an extended period of time but pretty much everything else. I can not report on those things yet as I have not tried it in the field, but it looks very promising. The fit was exactly what I expected for what I ordered, XL, I'm 5'9" and 230lbs, with the ability to layer lighter clothing beneath. It appears durable and should make little noise in the field while moving, and very comfortable, with elastic cuffs. Pockets were underwhelming, but the more pockets can compromise rainproofing this one seems to have enough, but would have prefered more. The hood fit nicely with neck and face shield extending to just under my nose, so a great shield from wind. All in all, this exceeds my expectations, so far, at this price point, with the true value being realised in its actual performance. I will update this review when I return from elk hunting the Oregon Coast Mountain range and update the my final conclusions, but anticipate it will be a winner! ... show more

    • Impressive jacket, and I tried 5 or 6 different brands. Returning all of them, but this one.

So, I ordered about $1500 in jackets via Amazon Prime. Before ordering this jacket, I called the seller and asked if I could order an XL and XXL to check size for layering. With the ability to return the size that didn't work for me. Of course they okayed my request. I'm an XL t-shirt, unless they shrink too much. So I've been wearing an XXL t-shirt even though they fit a little big at times. I'm 6'2" and 210lbs. So that will give you an idea of jacket sizing. The XXL was huge. I returned it almost immediately. The XL, allowed me to layer underneath. Most commonly a XXL long sleeve T and a XXL sweatshirt. You'd think it'd all bunch up uncomfortably underneath, but it didn't. The XL was perfect fit for me. I'm kinda' bummed they don't have hand warmer pockets, over the side slash hand pockets. It was something I had in one of the other branded jackets I returned. A nice feature if you use it. Also, only one chest zipper pocket, when most other similar jackets have two. Lastly, no arm pit vent zippers. Not really show stoppers, but it would make this jacket even better if they incorporated those requests. The hood at first, was a bit big and flew off my head in the wind. That was, until I realized it has two cinch cords to pull it tight and allow it to actually fit. They worked perfectly... and the winds a couple days ago were 50mph at my house. The hood stayed on as it should. Impressive! And it's removable, which not all jackets have as an option. Nice touch. The liner allows me to slide my arm in without bunching. Nice and slippery for layering. A great feature for when wearing the jacket or in a hurry to get it on... or off, without pulling the liner sleeve out of the shell. The "high wear" reinforced areas are a tough material. However, not sure I'll need them but another nice touch and adds to the quality of the jacket. Not all jackets I had (for my size and function "testing") were actually WATER PROOF. This one is, and works great. In fact, they claim the liner is seam sealed and water proof too. Haven't tried the liner by itself yet. Overall, a remarkable jacket for it's low cost. I tried to love jackets twice it's cost, and just couldn't. I'm keeping this jacket and have already recommended it to my other 'hunting' friends. One already bought it, and tested it himself out fishing the local lake on his boat. Said it worked like a charm, and kept him nice and toasty. A win win over all the others I had tried!! The liner itself is camo, and a great addition to making this jacket a 3-in-1. ... show more

I got the pant and coat. Took them to the mountains of Colorado Elk Hunting at 11,000 ft last November and north west Texas deer hunting last month. They worked great and fit super. I’m 6’ and 190 Lbs and the large fit perfectly.

I have Hotshot overalls and they are so comfy, warm, and quiet!! So i bought this jacket expecting the same and was NOT disappointed. Very nice, warm and quiet!!! Little heavier than i expected but lighter than my carhardt jacket

Jackets are big in size. I first ordered an XL, based on Amazons recommendation and it was way too big. Exchanged it for Large and it’s still a little big. Would like chest pockets on both sides because I shoot left handed. Jacket was warm and comfortable. I do like being able to remove the inner lining and the hood. I’m please with it. ... show more

Love this jacket so far. Provides good warmth and protection from the elements. It's my new winter jacket as we do get lots of precipitation and freezing temps in the winters here in upstate New York. I did have issues zipping-up the jacket while wearing it, with less issues while the jacket was off. There's definitely a technique to it, which I just haven't mastered yet. Other than that, my only gripe is I wish this pattern was available in more colors like Black, White & Gray Camo and Navy Blue, White and Gray Camo because I don't hunt or fish but this jacket looks and performs great in the winter. ... show more

Size: XX-Large Color: Veil Camo - Cervidae
This is actually 2 coats in 1, a warm inner jacket and more weather-resistant outer shell. The inner jacket has full camo print and can be either zipped into the shell or worn as a standalone jacket. I wore them both independently in different weather this past hunting season. The inner jacket I would probably say is good down to freezing, and adding the outer shell will keep you warm when it's much colder. I wore them both together for a few days in upstate NY in around 20 degree F weather, and was very happy with how warm they kept me. Fit was perfect for me - I'm a little over 6' and 280 lbs and the 2x was just right. Construction/materials seem like good quality and I'm expecting to get many years of use out of this coat. ... show more
