The fingerprint reader worked. Programming instructions were not 100% consistent with the # of beeps to indicate facts. But the RETURN and NEVER BUY was because it would not let me change the default password. 1234 is not very secure. If it can't be changed it is a steel piece of junk.

I had some difficulty setting the safe combination initially, and wanted to mention what I was doing wrong. After pushing the internal set button there is only one beep (not two as described in the manual). Enter the new combination and push the set button, then REPEAT the new combination and press set again (you should then hear two beeps). It's on me for not reading the manual properly, but the single starting set beep had me convinced there was some other reason the new combo wouldn't take. I noticed other commenters had similar issues, but nobody explained the solution so hopefully this helps.

Love the device as it keeps my guns safe and secure. The reader is spot on and works perfectly and the cost is just amazing compared to buying them at actual shops for boosted up prices.

The safe itself seems great. High quality materials and very solid. The only issue I had was resetting the keypad code. It seems the user manual is for a different model when it comes to the keypad programming directions. Hopefully this will help the next person out. To program a new code press the button inside the battery tray. You will hear 1 beep and the buttons will flash once. After that, punch your desired code in to set it. To confirm your code hit the button inside the battery tray once more and punch in your new code while the keypad buttons are red. Should be good to go after that.

The safe is fine and fairly easy to set up. It seems relatively sturdy and comes with a cable to secure it to something so the safe cannot easily be taken. However, after setting it up, it still doesn't open very easily at times. I think you have to touch the buttons with just the right amount of pressure to get it to open. It should not be like that if you ask me; the safe should open no matter how hard or soft you push the buttons.
