Features

  • The HORL2 sharpener has the flexibility to satisfy individual requirements in knife sharpening with interchangeable grinding discs and a Magnetic Angle Support with a 15 angle for a fine edge and a 20 angle for a robust blade.
  • The HORL2 sharpening system combines diamond and ceramic discs to sharpen knives of any hardness, including European kitchen knives, hard or soft steel, stainless and rust-resistant steels, and outdoor knives. The industrial diamonds used are the most durable and efficient abrasives.
  • Achieve a sharp, long-lasting edge on your knives with the 20 grinding angle, perfect for robust cutting tasks in the kitchen and beyond.
  • Create a finely honed, razor-sharp edge on your knives with the extra fine 15 grinding angle, ideal for fine cutting work such as sushi, sashimi, Damascus knives, and particularly hard steels with a high carbon content.

  • Well worth the money
For Christmas, my wife gifted me a beautiful set of Damascus steel knives - literally sharp as a razor. I can’t tell you how many times we cut ourselves without knowing it, and we saw droplets of blood on the cutting board. That’s when you build a great respect for sharp knives. It took a while, but eventually they became dull. After trying another “rolling” sharpener that didn’t roll at all, I bought the Horl 2, and it’s easy and quick and produces a great edge. The magnetic block holds the knife securely at whatever angle you choose, 15 or 20 degrees. The sharpener rolls very smoothly along the knife and produces a very sharp edge. The other side of the sharpener has a ceramic disk that takes off any burrs the sharpening process produces. I known the company is going to sell a Horl 3, which feature’s interchangeable discs with different grits and ceramics, but I sure wish they’d come up with a way to include the interchangeable features for previous versions. One can only hope… ... show more

  • Worth every penny!!!!!
We have the Ninja "Never Dull" knife block, with the built in sharpener. These knives have never been sharp. "Ever Dull" is a better name. I've used the built in sharpener religiously every two weeks for a year and I still had to saw thru a tomato. My wife has been begging me to throw them out and get new "GOOD" knives. I said "It's not the knives that are the problem, it's that they aren't sharp. Let me try to find a good sharpener" I stumbled on the Horl. It was $150. That's what we paid for the knives! I was skeptical. But I pulled the trigger and bought it. It's freaking amazing!! I didn't say anything to my wife about it and I was in the living room watching TV and she screams from the kitchen "OMG babe! These knives are sharp as ****!!! What did you do!?!" I laughed. Told her I bought a $150 knife sharpener and now she loves the "Never Dull" Ninja knives. "Never Dull" because this sharpener is freaking amazing!!! Buy it. Now! I've went to all my neighbors houses offering to sharpen their knives. They think I'm weird. But that's probably just because we've talked before. If they saw how sharp my knives were, they'd be all about it. Love this thing!!! ... show more

  • Efficient Edge, Easy to Use, No Whetstone Mastery Required
The HORL 2 Oak Rolling Knife Sharpener is a solid choice for keeping your blades in top condition. While it excels in delivering a sharp edge, the sharpening process takes a bit longer than expected, prompting the deduction of one star. However, the end result is undeniably effective, so patience is rewarded. On the positive side, it's incredibly easy to use and hold. The design is user-friendly, making it accessible for those who might not be knife-sharpening experts. The ergonomic features contribute to a comfortable and efficient sharpening experience. One notable advantage is that it eliminates the need to master a whetstone. For those who want sharp knives without the complexity of traditional sharpening methods, the HORL 2 Oak Rolling Knife Sharpener is a great alternative. In conclusion, while the sharpening process may be a tad time-consuming, the ease of use and the elimination of the need for a whetstone make the HORL 2 Oak Rolling Knife Sharpener a practical and effective choice for maintaining sharp blades. ... show more

  • The Apple iPhone of sharpeners
It does one thing really well, really fast, and really simply. I’ve been using the worksharp system for a while and loved all the customizations and angles and grits available, but I was blown away by how stupid simple this Horl system is to use. I gifted a set to my uncle who cooks a lot with very nice chefs knives. I sharpened his first knife with the worksharp system and it took me about 45-60 min to reprofile the blade and polish it. I was able to do his remaining 4 blades in 30 min using the Horl system. No, the Horl system won’t get edges to a mirror polish, or a custom 17° angle, but it does produce a perfectly usable edge in a a very short time with basically no experience or practice. Yes, it’s a premium product, and it carries that premium “Apple tax” in the price tag, so if you’re looking for the cheapest way to sharpen knives quickly, this isn’t it. But if you appreciate a beautifully made tool with an incredibly satisfying heft, finish, and hand feel (and understand that these details cost extra) then I would strongly consider the Horl system in your search for sharpening satisfaction. ... show more
