I had something similar to this years ago. It never worked how it should’ve so I never used it and eventually threw it away. I ordered this only a couple of weeks ago and have used it several times already. I love it! Note- I always make sure the edge inside the pan is snug to the inside of the pan

For thick edged pans, the clips don't open wide enough, thinner pans it seems to work okay but would be reluctant to try to drain spaghetti with it. Very easy to clean.
