I bought these to replace the bulbs in my Sylvania LED C9 Christmas lights. They worked perfectly. Simply unscrew the bulb cover and remove the bulb holder. Then straighten the pins on the old led and pull it from the holder. Insert the new, and bend the pins. Reinsert the holder and screw on the cap. The whole process takes less than a minute. The only difference that I can see between these and the original is the top of the bulb is domed on the replacements and flat on the original. It does not seem to affect anything though, the colors are the same as well as the brightness. I have five strings of lights and I probably had about seven or eight bad LEDs.     • Some colors are nice, terrible yellow
Color: A) 6 Colors X 10pcs = 60pcs
I am using these diffused 5 mm LEDs for front panels and so want the colors to look reasonably balanced in intensity and viewing angle. The green is super bright and is impossible to look at, at 20 mA. It takes less than 1 mA to be viewable straight on. The white, red, orange and blue are decent brightness but some colors are not as diffused and need wet-sanding. The yellow is very weak even at 20 mA, so need to find another vendor. A second vendor's yellow was only slightly brighter, so still looking. Modern LEDs have a problem getting yellow to match the intensity of the other colors. I had the same issue with the Chanzon 1206 chip LEDs and can't use the yellow. There is another brand that has higher brightness in yellow amber, but it is still only 400 mCd. In contrast a white is often 5,000 mCd and green as high as 10,000 to 20,000 mCd. Obviously these will never work side by side without fussy control of the current. ... show more

These bulbs are brighter than what was in my window decoration and placement of bulb is the most important. The long wire of the bulb corresponds with the clasp holding the bulb in the holder. Had to have someone show me that.

Please note that these RGB LEDs have three individual LED devices inside, so if you buy the clear version you will see three individual colors. The frosted version (which is what I bought) mixes the colors better. Also, be careful as to the polarity, these are Common Cathode but the seller also offers Common Anode versions, which are NOT interchangeable! ... show more

Bought common-cathode RGB LEDs. Relative brightness and the forward voltage of each color appears to be about as described, although I didn't actually measure either. I am using 220 Ohm resistors (with a 5V supply) for each anode and adjusting the pulse width modulation to get the brightness I need. In theory, this gives me about 13.5 mA maximum for the red and 9 mA for green and blue, with a spec maximum of 20 mA. If I adjust the PWM so the LED is always on, all three colors are more than bright enough; using a smaller resistance would provide more brightness or allow a shorter pulse width at the same brightness. The LEDs I purchased are diffused. In theory, the frosted plastic on the LED will diffuse the three colors enough so that the LED looks like a single color. In practice, more diffusion is needed and the LED color strongly depends on viewing direction and you can clearly see all three colors if you look straight on. ... show more
