There are so many over-the-door basketball hoop for a room and I had one when I was a kid but times have changed and so did these over-the-door basketball hoops! They have gotten so much better and advanced than my time. I got this for my son who loves basketball and he wanted one after he saw an over-the-door basketball hoop at his friend's house. This is so much better than what his friend has and definitely more advanced. It came inside a nice retail packaging box so it would make a great gift for any kid. The backboard is really nice quality and can easily hang over any door. I love that it also provided foam for each corner, which prevent backboard banging noise against the door as well as protects from scratching the door. With 3 AA batteries (which are not included), it can keep track of the score when the ball goes in and there are 3 different game modes. What my son loves about this particular one is that the rim is attached to the backboard with spring-loaded, allowing you to have dunk action where you can grab and tilt the board during dunking and it will go back the it's position automatically. The media could not be loaded. It’s SMALL. Large enough to support the included basket balls but it looks bigger in the pictures than it does in real life. The best feature of this hoop is the light accents that light up the plastic backboard giving you a red glow inside the backboard. The sounds effects are very limited and I wish they would make the volume maybe 50% louder than the max. It’s loud enough in a quiet room but with rowdy kids throwing balls at it it gets muffled out easily. The modes include single person 60 second shot mode, two players, and a memory mode feature. The announcer when you make a shot is pretty bare bones. Overall the sound effects I find the weakest points in this setup. The board however is well made and the rim plus the net are good quality. There are springs so you can even pull on the rim (for a small dunk) - the backboard comes with 4 rubber pieces for cushioning between the door or wherever you can mount the backboard. It’s sturdy enough you can throw balls at it over and over and it won’t hurt it. I have it placed on a bunk bed so the little one can reach it but my ceiling is 8ft only so on a door itself, it’s too close to the ceiling the kids keep throwing the ball at the ceiling instead - but that’s just their lack of coordination! Not bad for the $40 price tag because it is indeed a very well made basketball board, rim and netting. The sound effects is what I wish they will improve upon. ... show more

Dang... I sure wish they had indoor basketball goals like this when I was a kid! Well, like this aside from the lack of and/or wrong information... So the listing says that the depth of the hooks that go over the door is 2 inches. While that is correct they are also glad to tell us that this basketball goal over the door won't be noisy at all, thanks to the 4 foam pads that are to be stuck onto each corner. Apparently though, they failed to realize that by putting the foam pads on the back, the full depth of the over the door brackets cannot be used anymore and is then reduced to about 1.25 inches (about 1¼ inches). That being said, I must have some of the skinniest interior doors that are made, because nearly everything that I get that has over the door brackets has brackets that are too big for my doors. And considering that, 1.25 inches is too small for even MY doors. Lucky for me though, it's only barely too small, so while I have to force it a little bit the basketball goal still actually fits. It's just a little snug, which is probably better anyway. Anyway, I've still given it five stars because it still barely fits on my skinny doors, but if you're someone who's considering getting this, I'd take all of that into account. ... show more
