Description

The Triumph Big Shot II Double Shootout is the ideal choice for competitive head-to-head arcade basketball. Featuring large 1.5” diameter poles and durable metal rims, its sturdy frame construction is built to last and take on vigorous game play. LED electronic scoring with a time clock keeps track of the action for 8 different games. Easily start and stop games and navigate between game modes using the included control panel at the base of the shootout. The Big Shot II’s electronics have a dynamic and flexible dual power system that allow you to play using the included AC adapter, or break free from the electrical outlet and play anywhere with a battery-powered option (3 AA batteries not included). The set arrives ready to play with 4 basketballs and a pump and needle. When finished playing, the frame folds and locks into place for easy storage when not in use (39.5” L x 49” W x 81” H). Got this for my sons 10th birthday but has turned into a gift for all of us. It took my (very handy) husband about an hour to assemble and there was a 6-8 inch crack on the headboard when it arrived. We decided not to worry about it and finish assembling anyway. This thing is so much fun and surpassed my expectations. We even have a scorecard to record highest 30 or 60 second scores since we all play it so much and have gotten competitive with each other! I never thought I would enjoy playing with this but may love it more than my son! Very good quality and durability so far considering the price. ... show more

    • Customer Service is amazing!
So I put this together a day or so after Christmas and I went to turn it on and... nothing. It seemed the scorekeeper was a dud. I contacted customer service and Chris G. sent me a replacement scorer right away! It came a few days later (just the scorer no cords or other parts). I plugged it up right away (before installing this time) and again... nothing! I emailed Chris back. I was not happy at this point and if it wasn't such a hassle I would have returned the whole unit. He apologized and sent me out WAY MORE parts than I needed but it turned out it was the cord that connects the scorer with the control. All three scorers I have work fine with the new cord... While initially I was not a happy customer the customer service Chris G. provided far outweighed the small electronic malfunction. ... show more

    • Good size, sturdy 2 Lane Basketball Game, does take 2 people to assemble.
This unit seems to be a very nice home arcade game. My grandkids love it and so do the adults. I've only had it in use for a few days so the long term durability hasn't been proven. I am always a little apprehensive about the electronics on games like this. If the scoring system / controls go down then much of the fun is lost. The games construction is pretty robust. I like the size of it as it is wider than a lot of two lane basketball games I've seen. The tubing is pretty sturdy. The main reason I didn't give 5 stars was the quality of the assembly instructions. One illustration had two parts swapped and there were (4) screws that the instructions gave a part number for but they weren't in the fastener card but were in a small bag without any identification taped inside the electronic score board module. I'm glad I searched and saw the little bag. It is the screws that assemble the electronic score display module with the backboard in the middle. The instructions could have also been clearer about how to put the fabric ramp and side guards on. I did figure everything out and it did take a few hours to totally get it together but it works great and is a lot of fun! ... show more

    • Not Good...find a better one
Wow, this might be the very first time I've been steered wrong by my fellow "Amazonians." I received this from Amazon on time, as expected. I started putting it together and that's where the fun begins... First: the directions listed piece numbers (screws) that did not match the actual packet containing the screws, so something got lost in translation along the way.... I'm guessing directions were printed in the US and the parts were from China. It would say to insert screw #24 (long screw) when it meant screw #25 (shorter screw), but I wouldn't realize this until I got to the part where it needed a longer screw that was already used up earlier in the process. So, then I had to take certain parts out, mind you that it's the base you create first, so then have to drop it again and undo pieces, so very time consuming. This happened on multiple steps, so it just ended up pissing me off, since it would be major in terms of having to take down the backboard again or undo a leg. Next, the two rims aren't aligned, not the biggest deal, but one was slightly lower than the other, but also the rims themselves were slightly warped/uneven... again, not the biggest deal. So after setup was finally done... I started playing with my kids, that's when the new problems start... the velcro strap(s) on the corners at the bottom of the net constantly come undone, so then the balls end up falling off the sides. I've tried multiple ways to secure it, but it doesn't stay too long. The chain "nets" on the rims all broke by the 3rd day of playing. So, obviously those were very cheap metal links. Finally the actual electronic score thing is already acting funky, where the power button doesn't work on it's own and I have to push a few buttons to make it turn on. So, I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this product. Not worth the time or effort. If you have a Costco membership, they have a similar one for a similar price, plus it's an acrylic plastic backboard that looks more realist than this junk. Had I known they had it, I probably would've gotten that one, too bad I saw it afterwards. ... show more

We love this! Shipping did feel like it took forever. It came on the last day listed when we placed the order, but it was worth the wait! 2 of us put it together in about and hour and half. A week after we bought it the switch that keeps track of score went out, but we called the number on the pamphlet and after just a 2 minute convo listing what part we needed and the address to send it to they sent a replacement piece for free. It arrived in just a few days. This is a lot of fun and we love playing it! ... show more

    • Fun for the 18 months that it worked
We received this as a gift and my son really enjoyed it, minus a few flaws. The controls are wonky and 2 of the 4 balls wouldn't hold air for more than a day, but the real bummer is the wiring/electronics. I've repaired it a couple of times because the cables that connect it are basically phone cord and far too exposed to hold up. Now I can't even get it to power on anymore. My son still shoots baskets, but it's hard to hold any interest or play someone else competitively without the score keeping. EDIT: I was able to get ours working again by taking it apart and repairing a loose solder point. We still have a basket counter that occasionally stops working, but re-seating the RJ11 cable to the scoreboard box usually fixes it for a while. RJ11 (phone connectors) aren't build for the kind of stress these things take. ... show more

Another great Christmas gift! My boys (14 and 10) have spent endless hours in the garage since Christmas (even in below freezing temps) playing with this. While the assembling took a fairly decent amount of time, the directions were pretty straight forward and easy to follow. At this price point, we don't expect this thing to last forever, but if we get a good year of play out of it, it will be well worth it. ... show more
