After being flabbergasted that no local store had Nerf footballs - I took to Amazon, and of course was not disappointed. My son wanted to start playing with a football (he's 4) and the ones we have were both too large and a bit harder than I'd like, should one hit him in his head or chest. So of course, like any good parent and fellow 80s/90s kid - I looked up a Nerf football. Now, I will say the "grip" part of this is slightly misleading. It's a slick foam exterior - not as grippy as I'd expect. But he has no problem cradle catching this for now. I remember as teens we'd have a hard time catching these if they were slick or it was cold out anyway. Otherwise, this is the perfect football for some backyard fun. Soft to where I don't have to worry about an errant throw or bounce hurting my little guy. But large enough in size that it'll grow with us as we play catch in the back yard.
