Great grip and durability for adults playing flag football to my 4-year old son learning to catch. Soft enough to take one to the face without flinching but firm enough to grip and toss 40 yards. Generic version paint comes off too easy and peels off, but the real need holds up really well.

    • Perfect football for starters and kids
After being flabbergasted that no local store had Nerf footballs - I took to Amazon, and of course was not disappointed. My son wanted to start playing with a football (he's 4) and the ones we have were both too large and a bit harder than I'd like, should one hit him in his head or chest. So of course, like any good parent and fellow 80s/90s kid - I looked up a Nerf football. Now, I will say the "grip" part of this is slightly misleading. It's a slick foam exterior - not as grippy as I'd expect. But he has no problem cradle catching this for now. I remember as teens we'd have a hard time catching these if they were slick or it was cold out anyway. Otherwise, this is the perfect football for some backyard fun. Soft to where I don't have to worry about an errant throw or bounce hurting my little guy. But large enough in size that it'll grow with us as we play catch in the back yard. This Nerf football is easy to grip, easy to throw, and is perfect for kids playing recreationally! The softness if this football makes it easy to pass around and no one gets injured. It also sails through the air. We bring it everywhere we go!

Great football - my six year old loves it. Doesn’t hurt for little kids to catch and they can get a great spin on it. However - it does fall apart relatively fast. Just bought another one…after the first one I bought fell apart after a year. Before and after picture included!

I can't believe target and DIcks did not have these! Thank god for Amazon! My ten year old daughter loves it cause it doesn't hurt her hands. Can launch it far too as it not so soft that it gets blown by light breeeze.
