This ball is super cool, BRIGHTLY lit, and makes it possible to play basketball well after the sun goes down. While the material is not the same as a regular basketball, it absolutely bounces and works just like a regular ball. Yes, the content is stamped on, but does anyone really care about the stamped content on a ball? We're here to play and shoot, not sit and look at pretty basketball stamped lines! The price point is pretty awesome, considering if allows one to play ball well into the late evening. To get the most out of this purchase, I encourage my son to use his regular basketballs during the day but using this ball in the evening only. This way he can get the most out it and get it to last longer. My son eats, breathes and sleeps basketball. This present was purchased for Christmas 2020. We hadn't had the need to change out the batteries as this is mainly the ball he uses at night. I recently went to switch out the batteries with the company provided batteries but the lights didn't work. I tried my own set of batteries and those also didn't work. I used a battery tester and can confirm all sets of batteries (both from the company and my supply) were in good condition. While I hoped for the best but prepared for the worst, I reached out to GlowCity to see if they would consider sending replacement lights. WOW just wow. They were very quick to respond and sent out lights immediately. I just received the package and noticed they sent TWO sets of lights. In today's world, it is increasingly rare to find a company that actually cares about the customer and demonstrates this level of customer service. It's to the point that we've also all come to just accept that it is what it is. GlowCity provided a level of support that reminds you they still give a cr@p. Really cool ball, really great company!! This Christmas I was unable to travel back home so I ordered gifts and sent them to my parents house. Otherwise I would've attached a photo of this glow in the dark basketball. I ordered this for my 12 year old nephew who is big into basketball and wants to play at all hours of the day. Since he received this for Christmas, my family says he takes it everywhere and has played even more basketball. He loves and all of his friends want one too. The basketball lights up when you bounce it. Just a reminder - it does not come inflated so make sure to either buy a pump or have one on hand when it arrives. I highly recommend this product. I picked up the GlowCity Light Up Basketball to test for my tech and lifestyle reviews, and it’s been a hit! The ball uses two internal LEDs that activate on impact—every bounce or dribble lights it up with a bright glow (red in my case). I took it to an outdoor court at night, and it was a game-changer; the visibility is excellent, and it made playing after dark so much fun. The ball itself is a standard size 7 with a good grip, so it performs well for actual gameplay—I didn’t notice any difference in weight or balance compared to a regular basketball. The LEDs are powered by pre-installed batteries, and after a few hours of use, they’re still going strong (GlowCity claims 30 hours of life). Basketball does have a dead spot, but we don’t play competitively like that. We bought it for the glow and it’s really fun that way. Our half of our string of lights went out before a month of ownership, but I contacted customer support and they replaced the item promptly. Very happy with the communication. Bought as a gift for Xmas and while it is cool to play at night, we have to pump it every time we use it. So basically every day. Also, the batteries to make it glow were corroded so we immediately had to replace them and every now and then it will stop glowing while we are playing only to turn back on after a second.
