This is a very nice, quiet 3-speed unit with no rattles and a relatively powerful fan that can send air 25 feet towards (on high) where you are sitting. I now have 3 of them. All are the same and perform as I mentioned above. It's a bargain vs many other fans and is worth it. I bought the Honeywell TurboForce HT-900 to help my AC during a hot summer, and after two months of daily use I’m impressed by how much power this small 11-inch fan delivers. On the highest setting, you can feel the airflow from about 25 feet away, and the 90-degree pivoting head makes it easy to direct the breeze exactly where I need it. On low, it’s quiet enough that I can run it while working or watching TV without distraction. The compact size is a huge plus in a small apartment. It sits neatly on a desk or nightstand and doesn’t take up the space my old Lasko box fan used to occupy. That said, the build quality isn’t great. The housing is all plastic, and when the stand is angled it sometimes rattles. It’s fine for personal cooling, but it won’t replace a larger room fan or an air circulator designed for whole-room airflow. One nice surprise has been the energy savings. By running this fan, I’ve been able to raise the thermostat by a couple of degrees in the afternoon and still stay comfortable. A small drawback that caught me off guard was wall mounting-it works, but Honeywell doesn’t include screws, which feels like a corner cut. If you want an affordable, compact fan that’s perfect for personal cooling or supplementing AC, this one is an easy choice. I rarely write reviews and almost never rate anything 5 stars. However, with the heat wave plaguing the northeast, I thought it’d be helpful to share my impressions of this fan. Bear in mind, I only received it yesterday. It has been 100 degrees F in New England the past few days. My husband and I are in our mid to late 60s, and we both have some health issues. We have window air conditioners, but we recently moved and have been having difficulty getting the units up a full flight of stairs in our townhouse. I decided we needed to add another fan to our collection as some of our others are still packed. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money since the fans still packed are of good quality and were expensive to purchase. Enter this little Honeywell fan. When I first opened the box, I confess to having been a little underwhelmed even though I reviewed all the specs prior to purchase. However, needs must, and I immediately unpacked the fan and set it up. It immediately started making a difference in our comfort. Important to note: it’s 10”, and that makes for a small fan. It’s completely plastic for those for whom it’d be a negative. The highest speed is more like a medium setting in a larger fan. However, because of its engineering, it works great when aimed at one’s body. I suppose it’d work to make a small room cooler, but, in my view, it’s best use is as a personal fan. This fan works great. it was able to push air several feet away from me at a reasonable speed. My room is 15 feet long, and you could feel the fan from that distence on its lowest setting. The ability to point straight up, and with a few extra steps, you can also use it as a powerful laptop cooling fan, mind you there needs to be ventilation or space between the laptop and fan. It is also quiet, the only niose comes from the rushing wind. which i personally preffer. It doesnt have a remote, or battery so no worrying about battery life. It doesnt require assembly, just plug and play functionality. I think it looks fine, but i now am in the market for something wider, so i can have my laptop sit on it.
