  • Big Impact on Home Comfort
Size: (NEW) 4000 Sq. Ft w/ Alexa
I've been running this for about 4 months now, as my A/C could not effectively remove an adequate amount of humidity in my home without needing to be run extra-cold. Putting it at a target of 50%, it quickly and easily dehumidifies my home and has drastically improved my comfort. I can now keep the A/C at a reasonable temperature and offset those savings into running this unit. I especially enjoy using Google Home to both automate and manually operate it from my phone or smart speakers. Outside of the initial compressor start up, the unit is fairly quiet (I keep it at the low setting and find it does a fine job) It needs to be emptied once a day and I'm impressed with it's ability to remove humidity. Overall I'm extremely happy with this unit, and the only question I have is long term durability. Assuming this unit lasts a reasonable amount of time I would consider it a great value for someone needing to dehumidify a smaller home or large room. ... show more

  • GREAT HUMIDIFIER. IT HAS ALL the Functions needed. It is worth the extra dollars.
Great humidifier. It sucks the water out of the air like a pro. My house is dry. I am happy. It has ALL the features that are needed, built in pump, large water bin, almost 2 gallons - easy to remove and empty, stops when you take the container out, restarts when you replace the container. It has continuous drain option, drains up down, sideways, comes with 2 drain tubes, 3 ft and 16 feet, auto shut off when water bin is full, auto defrost, auto restart when electricity goes off, WiFi, easy to setup, good instructions, noise level is reasonable for the job it is doing, sitting 6 feet away with tv on...It is a gem! I have to empty the water container 2 times a day, makes it through the night. ... show more

  • Works very well!
This works very well for drawing the moisture out of the air. My basement was about 80% humidity and after running it for 24 hours it was down to 40% humidity. You do have to empty the holding tank a lot at first but it was amazing how much water it produced. I did order an extra hose to attach to see if I could get it to drain into my shower but I couldn’t get it to work. I am okay with that because once you get the humidity stabilized you don’t have to empty the water as often. It is easy to use and since I have it on carpet I did buy a rubber mat to set it on in case it did leak, but I have not had any problems with it in the 6 months I have had it. Overall I am very satisfied and happy that I can control the humidity in the basement. ... show more

  • Avoid Honeywell - don't honor warranty
This unit (TPFIT50WK) died after 2 months of use. Purchased in April and nonfunctional by June. The dehumidifier has a 1-year manufacturer warranty which states that Honeywell will REPAIR it or REPLACE it during that time, for manufacturer defects. I also purchased an insurance policy through Amazon (i.e. ASURION 4 yr). I followed the directions for set-up. I followed the directions for operation, including how the unit was positioned for good airflow. It was being used in a finished basement. I got the dreaded E3 error. Clearly, this is a manufacturer defect. I called the company (JMATEK in the U.S.) and followed all of their instructions for troubleshooting. I emailed all of the photos that they wanted, and of course, proof of purchase. I have been in email communication with them several times to try to get the problem resolved to my satisfaction. They are not interested in satisfying this customer. They state that they do not have this unit in stock or any 50-pint unit, and so will not replace it. They state that they can not repair it. So much for the REPAIR or REPLACE warranty! Their only offer is either a) cut off the electrical cord at the point it exits the unit and send us a photo that has both the cut cord and the unit serial number in it; sign a legal document that we provide "to close the case"; and wait 4-6 weeks for a check by mail for the purchase amount or b) wait until the fall when we expect to have additional units in stock. Of course, now - the summer - is when I most desperately need a dehumidifier. They refuse a refund to my credit card or Amazon. They refuse a refund of the cost of the insurance policy. They refuse to send me a return authorization for shipping the dead unit back to them. (I will have to pay a fee to dispose of the dehumidifier locally, due to the refrigerant.) Their convenience and bottom line is all Honeywell cares about - not the customer. ... show more

  • Really Brought Down the Humidity!
This machine performs beautifully and seems to be very well made! We live in the South, so heat and humidity are a reality in the summer. I was impressed with how well it brought down the humidity in the house, so much so that we had to raise the temperature on the AC because with the drier house it was becoming too chilly. I'm also impressed with the functionality of the pump. I had my doubts, but it does a great job of pumping the water out and up about four feet into a sink. We don't have a floor drain, so that pump was a key piece of why this particular unit was purchased. It does make some noise, but nothing intrusive. It's mostly just a low hum. After a couple of days we no longer even heard it. I'm also very pleased with how well the Honeywell app works. It provides the same functionality that the control panel offers, but let's me manage the machine from anywhere--especially useful if we're out of town. All in all, an exceptional dehumidifier! ... show more

  • Works As Advertised
Size: 4000 sq ft
This unit works very well and is whisper quiet. My basement humidity started at 71% when I first turned it on. Now the humidity is 40% (my target humidity). I use the reservoir. It is very easy to pull out, dump out the water, and then put it back in. We are talking less than a minute. The machine shuts down when the reservoir is full, without fail so far. ... show more

  • A very good dehumidifier
This dehumidifier works great. It takes a gallon of water a day from my basement. I can feel the difference in room humidity. It is a great thing to have. The only minor criticism is the missing washer for the drain hose. It could make the drain hose leak water. I caught it early and put in washer for a perfect operation. ... show more
