If one is used to these books, this one is no different. It gives the short version description of how to remedy, typically replacing, problematic car parts. The individual descriptions can be light on details, so reviewing other sections may be needed for some repairs. This copy had a nice laminated cover, but I believe that was from the seller and not originally included. ... show more

This is the most complete cheap book I have ever seen. If you have a problem this book will help you identify what it is and might even make a do it yourself repair possible. Just knowing what the problem is makes you more effective in getting the repair done. This vehicle is a computer managed toy that requires specialized tools just to listen to what the vehicle is able to tell you about whatever ails it. Not all diagnostic tools are born equal. $80 to $150 for a tool is usually met with savings the first time the car hiccups. Reading this book will make you aware of what is what and where it is as well as how it works and why it is important. Asking for professional help without this knowledge is not a great idea as folks who work on a thousand different cars will not always know what is needed for your specific one.     • Good Enough & the price is right
I own a 2006 Pilot EXL and have used this manual for a few easy maintenance jobs. I have purchased many repair manuals over the years, and as typical, Haynes does an Okay job of conveying most of the basic details. If you just want to do simple repair work, i.e. brake pad replacement, air filter, etc., then this manual should work fine. However, if you are looking for a more detailed book for major repair jobs (you know who you are,) then this may still be of value, but I suggest you find another reference to use as well. A factory repair manual might be best, or Bentley Publishing does a much better job at presenting the details (and more details) to the untrained, (especially the small ones that you would otherwise never know about.) Unfortunately, Bentley does not make a manual for the Pilot. So the biggest factor here is cost. Haynes price is cheap, and Factory Manuals cost anywhere from $60 to $120 depending on the year. So, you have to decide, how much information do you need? Assuming you can do the job yourself, the money paid on any (or all) of these books will almost have an immediate payback period. ... show more

This was a great purchase. Used it to replace spark plugs on the Pilot. Even came from the seller with a clear protective cover as used in the library originally, which is a nice plus as it will be easier to maintain with that extra protection. Great seller with quick shipment. The manual itself only goes into moderate details, but is fine for my needs. ... show more
