Well, I don't have a grow tent. I have a greenhouse the size of a large closet, just 35 square feet, and my inline duct fan keeping it cool in the summer heat died on me! When I saw this set up, I knew it not only could replace my current dead inline fan, it could upgrade my setup. My original air system had steel duct pipes, which are an immense pain to work with. Just replacing the old fan, I had to completely disassemble everything just to remove the inline fan. Inline here means the fan goes between two sections of duct pipe. With this system and a little imagination, I greatly improved my greenhouse using the flex duct and fan included in this kit. Installing the new fan was a breeze! Flex duct is SO much easier to work with than steel ducting! I reinstalled the old steel duct going through the greenhouse wall because it can support the weight of the fan. I used the kit's 4 inch rubber collar to connect the new fan to the exhaust. I connected a wye duct to the fan's input, then cut the flex duct and attached the two pieces to the wye. I was then able to route the flex to just above my 400 watt sodium streetlights, which I use during the winter when there isn't enough natural sunlight. Coincidentally, these two areas pool heat in the summer, so killing two birds with one stone (or duct) I was able to cool my greenhouse much better than I could with inflexible steel duct. It was a bit of work, but by using pieces from the new kit, I'm left with a big system improvement in two ways. First, having two air intakes improves heat extraction. With flex duct, I can route the intake lines more easily, and put the intakes exactly where they would do the best job. Second, when this fan dies, replacing it will be SO much easier thanks to the flex duct! I actually tried using plastic dryer hose a few years ago. The plastic dryer hose melted! Oh, well. Now I have a much better air handling and cooling system than I started with. For me, this kit was a godsend, even though I'm not using it they way the vendor intended. I'm one happy camper now! While I didn't use the carbon filter from the kit, I used just about everything else, including the electronic controller and the two suspension cords! Works for me!

When I first plugged it in, I made the mistake of not connecting it to the controller first. Man, does it blow air! Of course at these speeds it's quite loud, but after getting it connected and slowed down, it's whisper quiet. The panel will yell at you if you don't have the temperature sensor installed, so be sure to plug this in first. The tubing fit the fan pretty well and I had no issues clamping things together. After ensuring everything was snug, I decided to use this in my propagation tent for circulation. Installing it was of course, a breeze (no pun intended). Getting to the filter, it was absolutely covered in charcoal. I gave it a quick tap outside to knock out some residual charcoal and went to installation. Since this tent was small, I placed it on the outside, standing up. For this setup, I draw air from the inside of the tent out towards the filter, and it blows out filtered air. It was slightly messy at first, but did the trick. As of now, I don't really need the filter, but left it on anyway. All in all, it was easy to put everything together - especially if you've done this before. If it's your first time, I recommend reading the directions or watching a video to get a good grasp on how to get this set up. After using this for a few weeks now, I haven't noticed any issues or weird smells yet, so it seems to work quite well!

This is a pretty awesome kit that comes with everything you need to get started with filtering your air for your grow tent or small greenhouse. I have a 100 sq foot greenhouse and install this to assist with air filtration as well as a fan on the roof. I think by itself this fan would probably be good for anything up to 40 to 50 square feet. As far as build quality it seems to be well made and it doesn't need an overwhelming amount of electricity to run. It's also relatively quiet which isn't an issue for me since my greenhouse is well insulated and I wouldn't be able to hear it regardless. Overall I think this is a great choice for a grow tent or greenhouse to allow your plants to thrive during the warmer months especially. Until We Meet Again -Off the Grid Ken

This air filtration kit is really helpful for my 10x5 grow tent because when you grow mushrooms you deal with spores, and if you grow oyster mushrooms like me, you want to control the spores carefully or you will end up with them growing in your carpet or your walls. This kit comes with most everything you need and was really easy to set up in my tent and the thick carbon filter with this kit filters out spores. The smart panel is a nice touch, though I run this non-stop, so I am not using this like many people would. I would say that if you have a grow tent, this is really nice to have even just with plants. For me I am trying to maintain spore control, though for most you will want the filter outside of the tent to filter outside air coming in so you limit things like spores or bugs making their way to your plants. Or, if you grow hemp, having the carbon filter inside the tent for the outflow will cut down on any strong odors which can dominate a space.

This air filtration kit comes with everything needed to supply clean fresh air to a grow tent or small/medium sized greenhouse. It is connected to a smart panel, do not neglect that step if you want control over the fan speed, also the temperature sensor is important. The filter is not that important to me, but it is nice to have while it lasts. I will be using this in a grow tent, it does a great job moving air, and is beginner friendly in terms of setup and use.
