The media could not be loaded. Besides going to your local Coffee House and buying beans from them, owning your own Coffee Roaster will guarantee the absolute freshest coffee beans possible. Economically of course, owning a Coffee Roaster is the way to go. I wasn't sure where or even if I could buy Green Coffee near me, so I ordered some from Amazon the day after I ordered the Roaster. Both the Roaster and the Beans arrived at the same time earlier today. I've just completed my first Roast, my apartment smells like a Coffee House, and I'm completely fine with that. That's a great scent to fall asleep to. I used the dark roast setting and loaded it to full capacity with 110 grams of beans. 15 minutes in, it began to smoke (no worries, as the instruction manual said this was very possible) so I turned the Roaster off. The beans popped for a few minutes afterwards as a few Air Purifiers set on automatic function did their jobs of dissipating the smoke before the smoke detector had the chance to go off. The roasted beans look similar to the 'Dark As Dark' blend which has been my go-to roast from a local Coffee Roaster (Blanchard's of RVA) for years - mostly dark beans with a few lighter beans throughout. I inspected the chaff collector and found only One bean that didn't 'crack' enough to be considered drinkable. The remaining beans were placed in a canister immediately after cooling and sealed. I was tempted to grind some for an espresso just then, but after taking the time to search for the best time to grind, I learned it's best to wait at least a day for the beans to undergo 'degassing' before grinding... So... I'll wait. At least when I wake up in a few hours I'll still have the wonderful aroma of freshly roasted coffee around. Operating the HOMOKUS Coffee Roaster is easy. After washing the Cover Knob and Chaff Collector and allowing to air dry a few hours, the machine was ready to go. Clean up was just as easy, with just a little oil to wipe out of the Roasting Chamber and again washing the Cover and Chaff Collector. Off the bat, I'll rate this Coffee Roaster 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐'s because it did the job it's made for without any problems. Hopefully it will last so I'm able to stop buying roasted beans and save money roasting my own. If so I will definitely be adding that 5th ⭐. I attended the Roaster the entire time it was operating, will do so going forward and would suggest anyone using it do the same. It should be turned off immediately should excess smoking occur and if it's not attended to, no one will be around to know. ***The final picture is that of beans I regularly buy roasted, for comparison to the freshly roasted beans I just prepared (which are in a stainless steel bowl)***
