It definitely paid itself off since it lasted pretty long with constant use. I would certainly buy it again and I’m certain it would last longer if the pull out isn’t constantly being pulled in and out. Great piece for a guest bedroom :)

Ok I’m on day three post bed building. One box arrived on time, the other late. Easy to assemble (even with my two and four year olds running around) aside from one bolt in the corner of the trundle had no threads so I drilled a wood screw in place of that bolt as a connector. No biggie. The bed and slats are off-gassing a lot, so I have the window cracked. So if you order this bed, maybe plan for extra time for delivery and a few days for off-gassing. I would also make sure you place the back frame against a wall, because that back frame is not sturdy- like in other reviews, I’m pretty sure it would snap in half if stood upon by an adult. But my kids love it so far! It’s definitely a cheap bed but just right for us for the price. Oh, and I ordered an eight and a 10 inch memory foam mattress. The ten inch did NOT fit on the top bed (too tall) but I switched out my kids other mattresses, and an eight inch worked just fine. As for the trundle, the 8 inch came up over the edges by an inch but it still fits under the top bed (even with the quilt) and blankets, and I kind a like that the edges aren't exposed. If I had more money, I would’ve bought a bed that had real hard wood for everything, not mdf, but again this is great for the price and does its job well! ... show more

I love the final look of the bed. I was disappointed to find out the back of the bed is open. It’s just a top piece for the top of the bed, but it’s open about half way down. Set up it’s pretty simple, but the directions take some brain power since the boards are not fully labeled, and neither are the hardware pieces. When putting in the slats, we found they were drastically longer until we discovered we had to bend the frame and make them fit. However, I’m doing that, it marked up and ripped the leather. See pictures. So I’ve had to put tape over the holes so they don’t pull more. Being in my sons room, I want it to last as long as possible. The packaging showed up quite damaged, but only one piece has some scrapes. Overall it fits our needs. Just disappointed with the holes in the fabric after assembly. ... show more

After much research and reading all the reviews it's time for me to post my own. Upon receiving the bed I did a full inventory of all the parts and pieces. Everything was intact and ready to put together. Once I got the bed together, I conducted a weight test to see how it would hold up. I'm 6'1 And 230 lbs and it held up quite nicely. So I proceeded to the trundle and did the same thing. And it held up as well. To add more support for the top bed, I would recommend getting a twin bunkie board and lay it down prior to laying the mattress on top. The material is extremely easy to maintain and accessorizing it is fairly easy as well. As your can see from the pictures of will fit in any room and you would not be disappointed. The product came on time in two packages. Each package was at or about 50 lbs (that is heavy for one person), and I barely fit it into my SUV. (I pick up my mail at a postal box station, and the packages were wide and bulky.) The instructions were also very badly set up; the accessories were not labeled and were a bit difficult to confirm. Since I have put together a lot of furniture, it wasn't too hard, however, there were a couple stages that I almost made a mistake. It seems sturdy, and fairly good quality. There was a small rip in it when it was removed from the box, nothing major that couldn't be fixed with a little super glue, less than the size of a pencil eraser. It is only getting 4 stars because the instructions it came with were not for this specific bed, so it took some extra time for assembly. Also the support boards that go under the top mattress were not all the the same length. However screwing them in to the frame helped. When we take it apart we will probably just replace those boards with ones that are the correct length. Other than that we are pleased with the product. ... show more

Had to order this bed twice. The first time, I ordered it from Amazon, directly from Homelegance as the seller. It arrived with the box in tatters, the corners of the bed exposed and damaged. But worse, only 1 box of 2 ever came. Box 2 never even had a tracking #. The company, Homelegance wanted nothing to do with the situation. Refused to return my calls. It was a major fiasco to get a refund. Finally, I was able to reorder the bed with Amazon as the actual seller. All the pieces arrived intact. It was fairly easy to assemble. Seems sturdy, looks nice. There was some hardware missing though. I was able to replace it at a hardware store. In the end, I like the bed. I am just not sure it was worth the hassle though. ... show more

Written 3 months after purchasing: Awesome Bed. Great with a memory foam mattress, i went with a 10 inch. Something to keep in mind, read the dimensions of this bed!!! It's big! The side/surrounding walls go well above the mattress SO if you're used to end tables.nightstands, you'll have to come up with a new arrangement. I dont have a second mattress so i just use the lower part for storage and its great for that. Assembly took me about 90 minutes after sorting parts.
