I live in an apartment in NYC with my husband and 5 kids...yes 5. I usually wash/dry our clothes at the laundromat across the street. Usually I drop it off. For a family of 7, I was easily paying $60 a week on laundry. We’ve been talking about a full sized washer and dryer forever but never pulled the trigger. And the Coronavirus hit NYC like a ton of bricks. The laundromat across the street is closed and the one in my large building is shared and always crowded. Not great for social distancing. We bought the machine and the corresponding washer as a last resort. We didn’t want to have delivery people, an electrician and plumber coming in right about now to set us up with a full sized set so we opted for this. It plugs into a regular 3 prong outlet, doesn’t require any special plumbing/etc and to vent I placed it by a window. This little guy is amazing!!!! Since Sunday I dried a twin sized comforter in it., I’ve done 7 towels at once, 4 sets of two sized sheets, a 7 person family’s pajamas. Honestly, it works really well and takes up less space than I anticipated. It takes longer than the dryers at the laundromat to dry a smaller load, but it does have the added benefit of being coronavirus free. It’s also fairly quiet and my downstairs neighbors who complain about everything havent said a word. I’m grateful that I can wash/dry my clothes as soon as I come in from outside so I can be confident that I’m keeping my family as safe as I can. It takes longer, but I’m home and I’ve got time. ... show more

  • MUST GET
Because of the "Stay at Home" order, I was afraid to go out to the public laundry because of people spreading the Covid19 germs. I bought this dryer and I bought the matching washer. I live in an apartment with no hookups, so the washer is hooked up at the bathroom sink. Super easy. I set the dryer up by a small window, bought an aluminum dryer vent hose, used a heavy piece of cardboard, cut it to fit the window opening (just enough open for the vent hose), cut a hole in the cardboard, pushed the end of the vent hose into it, set the cardboard fitting into the window, pulled window down securely, used good aluminum vent tape (not duct tape) around the vent hose to secure it to cardboard, and around window opening to make an air tight fitting. Also covered the cardboard with something pretty I cut out, not really necessary. I left the screen in the window so no bugs or little critters can in. I also bought an aluminum elbow vent to use at the connection to the dryer to turn the vent hose in the upright position to aim towards the window. This adds a few inches, and pulls it away from the wall. I also bought a little 12x18 furniture dolly at Harbor Freight for $8, just to raise it off the ground to make it easier for me to reach. You could put this dryer on a small table or desk, but this works for me. The important thing is to make sure you push the little button in by the dial -- that is what turns the heat on. Now I do not have to go to a laundry mat or to a friend's house except when I want to wash big heavy blankets. My clothes are clean, and dry, and smell good. The lint screen is a little weird to get used to -- just reach in there and give it a little twist and pull straight out. It comes apart and you peel the lint off like normal. The felt cover is to prevent extra lint going thru the vent, it goes back into the back first, so just put your two pieces back together, then place the felt on the back, then push back into the dryer. That's why I lifted my dryer, so I could see in there a little better. You will wonder why you waited so long to get one of these. The washer and dryer have a two year warranty if you go back to the HomeLabs website and register them. If you live in a neighborhood where you don't feel comfortable with the vent in the window, you can get those little screw in locks to lock the window down and it won't move. Or you could buy an indoor vent box. I have asthma, and don't like to blow anything with dust or lint into my living area, and the window vent works for me. Also, when I am drying clothes, tend to run my bathroom fan which draws air out of the apartment and takes it outside. It just keeps things circulating inside so there is no buildup of humidity. (I live in a state where there is a lot of humidity already.). This little washer and dryer can go with me anywhere I live in the future. They are sturdy and well built. Just a miniature version on the the normal size washers & dryers. You will love them! ... show more

  • BEST DRYER I HAVE EVER BOUGHTEN!!!
I love my dryer!! I love everything about it!! I would give this more than five stars if I have to. I have not had any issues with my dryer at all so far as I had it. My mom has ordered me a Haier dryer which the first one with a defect because it started rattling the first few months and then they ended up sending us out another dryer and then it decided to break down on me later. I don't know what was wrong with it. I don't know alot about dryers? if it was the belt or what, but it started to rattle again and it wasnt drying my clothes anymore. So I believe those company dryers dont last very long. I have to tell you that I am grateful that my mother did buy me dryer even though it decided to take a poop on me. I really really do appreciate her and all she do because she didnt had to get me a dryer and it costs money. But since I was without a dryer and it decided to not work anymore. I decided to order a new and different compant dryer. I would have to say this dryer is amazing it dries my clothes very fast it's wonderful and I love it!! I also love the fact that it has handles on the sides where I can pick it up and move it!! it is a really good dryer and I would like to suggest anybody that needs a dryer for an apartment this is a very good investor I've ever boughten compared to the haier dryer. :) ... show more

  • It’s compact and works perfectly
I bought this and wasn’t really sure if I was going to be getting a dryer that just spins. I am happy to say that this dryer has been such a great purchase. It heats up and dries clothes. It does seem to take a little bit longer and can only hold a small to medium load at a time but it sure beats having to gather clothes and drive to a laundromat and spend money for every load. I had to buy a basin to use it properly but I would say that it’s all worth it and will eventually pay for itself and saves you a lot of time. The only major con is having to remove lint from the catcher. It has this piece of fabric that needs to be vacuumed or brushed in order to get lint completely off after every use. ... show more
