I bought this for my daughter who is not known for her tidiness. But she must be growing up, because she actually requested a hall bench for her various coats and hats as a birthday gift. (She lives in Wisconsin, so coats and hats are a given 3/4 of the year!) She said she was tired of the pile of crap by the door and wanted some place to put things up. This mom has never been more floored in her life except for the time the same child voluntarily cleared the table and rinsed the dishes. This arrived on my porch today and I alone (a 23 y.o female) was able to put it together in about an hour (with distractions like the dog and TV). Very straightforward build. The sturdiness could be a little better (it wobbles) but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with an alternative method. Really brought my apartment living room together. And she’s holding up the same as the first day we put it together! It’s very simple design but cute and no very big which for me is a plus I’m a less is more kind of person I just wish the shelf on the top was a little bit bigger but it’s a hell of a bargain

We don't allow shoes in our house, so I needed something for people to sit on to take their shoes off. It is practical and does what it is supposed to do. It holds 2 people at a time. My 200 lb husband sits on it daily with ease...some times with our daughter who weighs 45, with purses and coats, so it can hold some weight. It's sturdy.
